Seriously though, the game won't have strength on Gamefaqs. This site is dominated by people 25 or younger, that Farmville is incredibly popular among people over age 40 doesn't matter that much.

This. Like I doubt something like Peggle or Bejeweled would be very strong, even though they are some of the most played games on the planet now. They're just TOO casual.

I don't expect much after WoW bombed, but the wild-card factor is very exciting. What better game is there to push for the next Games Contest? The strong ones won't have a problem getting in.

The day match will murder Tifa. Based on previous Seph/Tifa trends she'd probably do a full 1.5 points better in a 24 hour match than a 12 hour day match against Sephiroth.

And as much as I love Kingdom Hearts, I really, really wish people wouldn't love to use their art for FF characters so much. We got two rounds of KHII Tifa, which is fine, I guess, but it's got absolutely nothing on a pic like that. Same with KH Squall.

I especially hate the in-game KH pics for FF characters. Cloud's KH art is fine, but otherwise that game should be avoided entirely. Dissidia pics are worse though.

I don't mind some Dissidia pics. Tidus's Dissidia art is pretty good, and the Old Square FF characters have good art. I don't like Squall's at all though. As if he didn't look bishie enough already, then they throw out that Dissidia art!

For me Dissidia Tidus pics are fine, by comparison (FFX Tidus can get pretty bad too). Same goes for old FF. Dissidia Cloud is just horrible though.

As you can see there is very little movement which implies that regions do not stay as constant as I would like them to have stayed. This pretty much makes an adjusted Day/Night x-stats a bit redundant, you might as well just go with +/- 1% max for each character.

If Farmville ever makes it into a contest, I wager it will be tanner-level. The only possible chance for it not to be horrible is a facebook rally, and I doubt that will happen for several reasons.

a) Zynga probably doesn't know or care about the contest
b) Even if they do know about the contest, what do they have to gain from winning it? It's not like they need publicity-they have annoying friend and friends of friends who spam you with requests to do that for them.
c) One of Zynga's most valuable resources is their players' news feeds. If they ask favors of all their users every time a random website hosts a random contest, they risk annoying their players. It's just not a good risk/reward from a business perspective.

If they do rally, all bets are off, we run save_us.anyone and hope for the best. But remember, Valve didn't rally any of their characters, and they have so much more to gain from their characters doing well than Farmville would. I highly doubt Zynga will rally.

Actually I'm 99% sure Valve rallied Gordon Freeman to victory in the gamespot best hero contest. If their characters ever showed potential of accomplishing much on gamefaqs, Valve may well rally for Freeman on the gamefaqs contests as well.

I don't understand how this doesn't make Cloud look every bit as strong as, if not stronger, than Link.

2008 X-Stats have Ryu at near 30% on base Link, but there's two factors I find are involved. 1) lol 4 ways and 2) SF4, SSF4, TvC.

Comparatively Ryu was a 34% on Link in 2002 -- he's almost definitely stronger now (although so is Link).

Taking every year he has never dropped below 29% on base Link, and that was in his worst year. 2006 had Ryu listed at 32%. Assuming all of his games recently and hype have boosted him enough this makes Cloud look like he can take on Link head to head. In a 24 hour match Cloud would almost certainly manage a higher %, and taking into account it's likely that Link has dropped while Ryu has BOOSTED...in what way is this an underperformance by Cloud? O.o (Some people have been saying this).

Especially when you consider that Link has likely dropped, and Ryu has boosted he only needs to make up about 2% between those two right now to be on 2006 Link's levels with this performance. O.o Now take into account that Ryu just beat Dante, who was listed at a whopping 36% on Link in 06, that looks like a sizeable boost for Ryu. Now I'm not saying that Dante remained constant, or that Ryu has boosted by 4%...but a combination of the two makes Cloud vs. Link look mighty contestable.

Also that discussion is brought up in hopes that this Samus > Cloud crap will stop. Samus has NO chance against Cloud. Right now, with this performance alone, Cloud should almost 60 - 40 Samus.

Link looked out over the gold-plated balcony of his might fortress. The sky was darkening, but it was still day for a bit longer. He looked down upon the outdoor arena and sneered. There was Cloud, battling with Ryu. The martial-arts master skillfully dodged Cloud’s Buster Sword and created a fireball. He screamed “HADOKEN!” and the ball of fire burned into Cloud’s back. Cloud spun around and beaned Ryu on the head with the flat of his blade. Ryu lost consciousness and slumped to the ground. Link gave a few sarcastic claps, then went into his room and began perusing his bookshelves.
A few minutes later Cloud appeared in his doorway. “My lord?”
“Ah, Cloud. Hello. I saw you in combat today.”
“Oh… You mean I had the honor of watching my lord’s eyes gaze upon my battle?”
“Why not? I was bored, and it is Round 4. Ryu is a tough little guy. I figured I might as well watch.”
“Thank you, sir.” Cloud bowed deeply.
“Now, Cloud, the tournament is entering its final stages. I have some advice for you.” Link began pacing around the room with his hands behind his back.
“Yes?”
“Some people are saying you may lose to Samus Aran, the bounty hunter.” Link stopped. His back was to Cloud. “Those people are fools. Crush their dreams. Crush Samus Aran.”
“As you wish.”
“In the round after that you will face either Solid Snake or your good friend Sephiroth.”
Cloud shivered. “How I despise them both.”
“Excellent!” Link turned to Cloud and smiled. “You shall destroy whichever of them comes to you.”
“Do you have any other advice for me, my lord?”
“Yes. When you reach the final… you’ll be facing me. And you will lose.”
Cloud said nothing for a long time. Finally he spoke.
“My lord… I would like to try my best against you.”
Link cocked an eyebrow. “Oh? Well, you may. But your best is not good enough. You may think you’re invincible when you’re battling those other pathetic creatures, but you’re scarcely better. You are a maggot. They are rotten meat. The only reason you aren’t worthless is because the rats down below are even more worthless.”
“Ergh…” Cloud winced. His words cut so deeply…
“Now, you will reach the final. Oh yes. I know you will. And then you will lose. Again. But you had better get second place, Cloud. I hope you remember what happened in 2008.”
Cloud shrunk back, instinctively reaching out and rubbing the back of his head, and the thick scar there – his punishment for losing to Solid Snake in 2008.
Link laughed. “Yes! Exactly! My right-hand man cannot be made out a fool. You missed out on your silver trophy – a real shame.” Link gestured to a nearby wall that had over a dozen trophies on two shelves. The upper held five golden trophies with Link’s name and the year he won them. Below that, three silver trophies bearing Cloud’s name and the year.
Cloud glared at Link. “Hm… Link, I have a question.”
“Yes?”
Cloud smiled. “Where is your trophy for 2003?”

Cloud was once again submissive. “Please, My Lord, show mercy! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”
“You know this, slime.” Link grabbed Cloud roughly by the shirt and put his face inches away from his victim’s.
“I. Never. Lose.”
After those words Link gave a solid push. Cloud tumbled over the balcony railing and began freefalling to earth. The girl let out a scream. In an instant the dragon spread its wings and took to the air. Reaching out, the orange monster grabbed Cloud and safely brought him to the earth.
“Mama mia.” was all the Italian plumber nearby could say. He adjusted his cap, tilting it over his eyes, and shook his head.
“Cloud! Are you all right?” The girl embraced him, nearly smothering him with her ridiculous rack.
“I’m fine, Tifa. Thanks, Charizard.”
The dragon nodded and followed Mario, who was going to the battler’s quarters to sleep for the night. Mario had seen enough violence in the battles today. He didn’t need to see more from His highness lashing out at those who questioned him.
“I’m thinking we should go rest up, too, Cloud.”
“Eh, you can go if you want, Tifa… I need a drink.” Cloud started off the opposite direction, toward the combination bar and diner that served the combatants every year.
“Wait!” Tifa grabbed Cloud’s arm. “I’m coming too.”
“Alright then. Let’s mosey.”

I wouldn't say Cloud is going to destroy Link, but there is a tiny chance that he could pull it off. This site should still be in FFXIII mode when the final happens, and that has to be good for Cloud, right?
I don't want to get my hopes up, but after this performance, Cloud > Link is at least more likely than Samus > Cloud
