Forgive me for not paying attention, but what is the argument for Samus > Cloud? This one match isn't going to convince me, even if it turns into a doubling.

Also, LOL ZSS pic. (Is that fanart?)

It's more from Samus crushing her opponents versus Cloud not impressing against the likes of Ridley and Falcon!

Not really the best basis for an upset, but I'll take what I can get! In all honesty, Cloud will kick Samus's ass as expected.

And I'm glad my Kratos > Sora upset was legitimate, even if neither character made the division finals!

Dante > Cloud: ITS NOT HAPPENING

Looking back at Samus' matches, the only result that stands out to me is against Sub-Zero. And he might've dropped off since 2008, too. (I'd have taken him over Jill in a heartbeat pre-contest, though.) I want to see Samus upset Cloud as much as anyone here, but I don't think it's gonna happen.

...hmm. I'm being awfully pessimistic today.

As far as I'm concerned, I don't think that a contest where we get half-day matches until the semifinals will tell us much of anything, to be quite honest.

Not to mention this is Samus and Cloud at the night, so Cloud should by all rights be more impressive! Granted, this is a night match anyway, so Cloud still has the advantage, but this really is equal footing here!

Anyway, I have a question. How would the x-stats for the Midgar division look if Cloud got exactly 60% on Ryu?

Samus is not going to win the Euro vote against Cloud; it shouldn't be close. If Missingno's fanatical supporters couldn't stay awake and keep their guy ahead of Seph, I don't see how Samus can have a better shot to hold her Power Hour lead. Even suggesting she'll have a Power Hour lead is a big stretch, actually. Heck, Cloud may be the favorite to lead at the freeze.

And I don't really think you can take Cloud's divisional stats all THAT seriously because it's pretty obvious the top guys are getting anti-voted this year, so that's just going to skew the stats. Samus doesn't appear to be suffering from anti-votes, for whatever the reason.

However, one -14 managed to get it right. HeroicPalmer has done so well he could miss two Round 4 matches or one Round 5 match and manage to stay on the Top 50 no matter what. 3.17% overall prediction percentage. That's only a little better than half the percentage of brackets that has Cloud winning the 2k3.

13 people fell off the Top 50 today. cyanlce, UltimaBladeX, Kiyala, crh88, transience, TheGreenThunder, frisqo, Xuxon, Ultima_X, DHHatesYou, Arkayo, bospsychopaat and TeamRocketElite did not believe The Char would win the match. If this is the match that takes me off the Top 50 for good, I deserve it for not having faith in Charizard.

31 people get it wrong and survive. PartOfYourWorld, Luigi_Galaxy, KadenceInc, primewaker, GoldSlime35, Dark_Spiral, HeroicRoy, CloudOfKH, Garrison5001, FireLaserBeam, LegendaryGeno, Seang1978, Zylothewolf, Saxophoninator, Agent_M, ranapuer, Topstorm87, Gavin_Sykes, PukeInMyPot, Wolf_Kenri, WiggumFan267, DaemonDragon, fr0g804, Safer_777, BMVlado, demphra, linkhatesganon, Naomi_Diamond, TheColderWar, GreatGen and Iamthekuzalol also didn't have Charizard winning.

6 people knew right from the beginning that Charizard was going to win the division with ease. Current first place HeroicPalmer, current second place Dr_Football, current third place ExThaNemesis, current fourth place sonic_nhl, current fifth place andylt and AccelACE all had Charizard winning. All of them went up significantly in the rankings except for HeroicPalmer was was already in first and now has a large lead on everyone else.

And now I'm going back to taking out Team Rocket HQ in Pokemon SoulSilver...

How the hell did I miss that?

Cloud kinda makes sense since he's the second strongest character on the site to begin with, and I guess Samus makes sense as a night character since she's cut from a different mold from the other Nintendo characters, so I'll trust creative's judgment there.

That just means Samus will beat Cloud in a night match after all! So much for that Mario/Cloud rematch! Guess it'll be an underwhelming Mario/Samus rematch instead!

The way I see it, this was the chance for Samus to prove she deserves consideration against Cloud. There's only so close to Captain Falcon Zelda can be, no matter how much Zelda has fallen off. And given that Vincent was able to hold up against Sephiroth and Falco and Ike seemed to have held up against Mario, I find it very hard to believe that our first real big bad SFF-fest between full-on Nintendo/Square would be in Samus's favor of all characters. Assuming she doesn't fall off hard during the night in this match, Samus has shown that she deserves as much consideration against Cloud as Snake does against Sephiroth.

Wait, the updater's broken? I hope you guys have been saving every update at least!

Also, want to give thanks to creative for the simple poll for cell-phones. My cell is a weak-ass piece of ****, so it's great that you have a text-only version of the GameFAQs poll that even my cell phone can read! Thanks to it, I could see Charizard crushing Bowser at work instead of having to wait to come home to experience it! It really is convenient for me during close matches, and I appreciate you implementing it for people like me.
