I'd be more distressed at how close Ryu is going to be to Captain Falcon. Or more excited. Falcon is actually legit after all! I think weaker opponents percentages are very inflated against Cloud. His fanbase and anti-fanbase are tailor-made to make stronger opponents look worse, and weaker opponents look better. |

Crushed America, beat Kratos, defeated a former champ, and then easily beat Bowser to win his division, all while being the huge underdog. Missingno may have killed the Noble Nine and got closer to Seph than even Mario or Samus could, but Charizard had one of the best runs of all these contests. Great job, 'Zard. --- Not Wylvane |

Considering
where Cloud is liable to end up and the trend against every character
scoring huge blowouts, I'd venture to call this impressive if he can

another percent! This is Cloud Strife. Let it be pronounced to the
masses of characters clamoring for a fight: He'll get far closer to
Link than you'll ever get to him. Based on last contest, Alucard = Falcon may actually be pretty reasonable. Alucard only won with 55.5% with Diddy in the poll, which became 61% when Diddy was replaced with Pikachu. In that case, Link/Cloud would be projected to go around 54-46 since Link was handicapped by a night match with Alucard. --- 2010 Extrapolated Standings: Crono gets 46.85% on Sephiroth. All you need now is KH3 or SSB4, Crono. Then your quest shall be fulfilled! |

And Jesus Christ, Cloud is still making huge ****ing gains. You know, creative does have a good point about anti-votes meaning more in the night, where there's fewer votes. Cloud's looking like his old self here in the day, and this actually is the first time we've seen any of the big three in the day. If Link had a day match, he'd easily break 80% on Thrall, maybe even 85%. Night votes are what are really hurting the big three. They get much of their strength from day-time voters, while characters like Samus are still incredibly strong in the night. This means that Samus may yet still have a chance at Cloud since it's a night match, so we'll have the pansy Cloud of the first three rounds instead of the Cloud-level Cloud of today. On the converse, Snake is completely ****ed against Sephiroth. --- Not Wylvane |

From: Not_Wylvane | #2302 85% is certainly too high. But yes he'd have done much better. Link is actually fairly unbalanced even normally - he always rises a lot after noontime. Add in anti-votes and the difference would be greater. 82+% is likely a safe bet for a 24-hour match. This means that Samus may yet still have a chance at Cloud since it's a night match, so we'll have the pansy Cloud of the first three rounds instead of the Cloud-level Cloud of today. On the converse, Snake is completely ****ed against Sephiroth. This is pretty much what I've been saying. I mostly agree. Samus has an outside shot - although again I expect the daylight to end her chances. I'm
telling you, Samus/Cloud and Snake/Sephiroth will both have low votals
because of March Madness. I think that that will hurt the FFVII
slightly more than the Nintendo fanbase, but that's just a gut feeling
and I have no idea why. |

The
idea that Cloud wouldn't be getting similar percentage jumps in the
Power Hour isn't just revisionist history, it's demonstrably untrue.
Thirty minutes in from the freeze last round, in the middle of the
Power Hour, Cloud put jumped ~3% against Falcon. Thirty minutes in
today, Cloud's jumped... ~3%. What people are marveling at is the

Actually,
I'm wrong about that. There are no games during Samus/Cloud. But I can
guarantee that Snake/Sephiroth will have very low votals and that the
semis and finals will have very weak day votes, meaning a very weak ASV. ... Cloud > Link? I just realized, that's a Sunday match. Weekend ASV strikes again! |

note, this is still a far cry from what Cloud has gotten in previous
years. If this was (somehow) a Round 1 match, people would be very
disappointed. It just looks less crappy in comparisan to letting Falcon get 30% on you. Yeah,
Clinkeroth appears to have lost a step this year, but they can afford
to lose a step and still beat even the next strongest 55/45, at least

don't really think so, anymore. Voters are smart- even if Link is their
favorite character, if you put two characters they like against Link
and give Tanner to help Link, I think a large number of them will
defect. I could see Link/Guybrush losing pretty easily to Crono/Samus
or Megaman/Snake. Remember, Link isn't even the favorite character of
most Link voters in any given 1v1 match, he just has to be preferred to
