To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Solid Snake, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Vincent, Kirby, Missingno, et al group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters recently.

The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below.

I'm not a big fan of including the Near Elites at all, tbqh. It's too variable over the years to say with any certainty who they are, since unlike the Noble Nine it's based more on extrapolated strength than any other factor.

2006 was a long time ago, and she came close to Samus because of a complete fluke match picture. Same reason I dismissed Snake/Bowser and took Bowser off.

Tifa has still looked pretty strong since then, arguably better than 2006. Bowser has clearly not looked strong in 4 ways.

Anyway, if she can match or even beat Vincent's percentage on Sephiroth it'll be enough to settle the debate (read: not really). It'll be good enough for now though.

Even without the match picture, she would probably still get a good percentage on Samus. Even today, I could see her giving Crono and Sonic some fits.

I understand it's only nine. That's why I said put it in parentheses. "Near"-elite is ridiculous for someone who put up 47% on Sephiroth. That's top of the line elite, at least to me.

Omitted scores got it wrong.

Overall prediction percentage didn't fall too much from Sonic's Round 3 performance. The top 8 tiers went perfect but after that the prediction percentage falls into the 80s and never really goes up into the 90s. From around 160 and lower, the prediction percentage starts to fall off until it fades away.

8 people fell off the Top 50. Elkfryn_Demtor, frodragon, WhatTheDarn, Kamekguy, blitler, The_Wanderer123, Arvisk_Dremdaw and Jman_gamerX8 did not have Sonic winning the match.

Not much of a percentage drop off. I'm unsure who looks better overnight... I suppose it would be Mega Man but there's no way he doesn't end up looking pretty bad at this point.

What is with you, dude? You got your own hopes up with this ridiculous upset. Why would Mega Man beat Mario when Mario's games can 80/20 anything Mega Man has to offer? At least Samus has her design and some different fans to bring to the table. Mega Man is literally lucky to do this well. I can't think of anyone else who has built such strength on such weak games. Dante and Kratos aren't even close to what MM has accomplished. Good for him, but he ain't beating characters like Mario.

(I say indirectly because I think Yoshi proved that MissingNo. is incredibly susceptible to Nintendo LFF.

Also, this "Mario characters looking good" thing... I don't buy it. They've had matches set up to make them look good, with one exception (Link v Luigi, and he didn't look so great anyway). And they've disappointed relative to a handful of expectations.

I guess this is just me putting this out there for a total shutdown if it goes wrong: I will be absolutely, 100% SHOCKED if Charizard does not throttle Bowser.

...just a gut feeling.

It's joke strength. It can deflate itself pretty quickly. L-Block went from winning the contest to losing to pokemon that were set it front of it. WCC went from looking upper midcard to barely beating The Boss. Missingno. could (and in my opinion, will) drop off once next contest arrives with a brand new hype train jokester to get behind.
