If Ryu breaks 40% on Cloud freakin' Strife, I'll be terrified of Snake. I want him to reach the semis, but it's not like the intrinsic difference between Cloud and Seph is that significan. A rallied win over Seph can easily translate into a rallied win over Cloud.

The Mario characters really have put up some impressive performances. Other than this, you've got Mario destroying Big Boss and Bowser easily taking out Sora. Also Yoshi doing well on Missingno, if you want to take anything from a joke match. Pretty good evidence for an overall Mario boost.

Ehhh, I couldn't see him holding on for 24 hours 1-on-1. Doing it with Link or Sephiroth in the poll is one thing. Doing it all on your own is another. Plus, Snake won't even get there! Squall time, baby!

So what percent does Cloud need to get on Ryu to look more impressive than Link this round. 65%?

Cloud once scored 71% on Ryu despite Auron leeching him. Of course with this contest being anti-blowout and top characters being anti-voted, as long as Cloud could get around 66% or more on Ryu, i would say that is more impressive than what Link has done so far.

Probably a little bit, since Luigi should be a good step ahead of Alucard even at night, but this is like table scraps compared to the SFF beatdowns Link would muster before. Remember 82% on Yoshi? That still may be his most impressive performance to date.

And wow, Link has risen a solid percent since the Power Hour. It's just as much of an Anti-Powerhouse Hour this year, it seems.

Man, Link has really dominated since I left! I don't know if he can bring Luigi down below Alucard, but Link has turned into a miniature FFVII character, with a night vote and everything! If that's not a sure sign he's getting anti-voted, I don't know what is.

Luigi VS Ryu, who you got?

Hmmm...Ryu got 59.37% on Ammy in 2008, which is 0.22% less than what Weegi got. Ryu beat Bowser twice in 2007 (once definitely with LFF help, and the second one is debatable). Ryu beat Dante this year, Yoshi beat Dante in 2006. Luigi beat Bowser last year.

I think it'd be a good match, but in a debatable match, you almost have to side with Nintendo.

Link was definitely anti-voted more in this match than in the previous two matches, for whatever the reason. It took him a full minute to even get to 60% against Luigi. Plus, where he finished the freeze against Thrall, Alucard, and MMX is pretty close to where he finished overall. He's already gone up over 3% since the freeze in this match. Of course, Thrall and Alucard have better night votes than Link and certainly better than Luigi does as well, so...

Plus, Link didn't really lose the night vote to MMX. He just didn't dominate it like people thought. He did do a little better with the Euro vote though.

I think the Missingno loss soured a few voters, which helps explains Link's awful start and Daddy's good performance on Tifa (doubt he's BETTER than Gordon, but he's probably close either way). This could spell trouble for the presumed favorite, Sonic, tomorrow, but maybe I'm looking too much into things.

Come to think of it, Ryu vs Luigi could be a match to determine who is the strongest non FF non N9 match. Ryu has proven himself in that trio Capcom match and Luigi seems to be slightly more impressive than the other Nintendo near-elites this year. Kirby/Luigi could be a toss-up but i will wait till Kirby/Sonic before i judge.

I sure hope so, because for some reason, I've become more worried about Sonic than I am about Bowser or Snake. Watching Pikachu roid it up all of a sudden after two rounds with a normal board vote was a cruel slap of reality. It's hard to imagine Kirby not doing the same tomorrow. His board vote can be comparable to Pikachu's, and Sonic's hasn't been that good recently. The danger for Sonic is that he isn't that much stronger than Kirby anyway, and a terrible board vote can hold, and hold, and hold.

Very true. Of course, the silver lining for me is that if Sonic survives, Snake becomes the last viable upset option because Bowser/Charizard is a Nintendorgy.
