if it was Crono vs Seph here, would Crono have a similar % against Seph, or at least somewhat close (like, have seph below 55%)?

Let's assume he does!

Crono > Snake aw yeah. Hell, Yoshi > Snake **** yeah.

UltimaterializerX but how long was Alucard winning? And what was the maximum difference?Because if after 5 minutes he won by like 10 votes that doesn't count I believe.

He was winning by ~50 for a few hours. I consider this a vote swing. If you want a "normal" example, Master Hand swung 6000 votes on Kuja.

I'm definitely nominating Missingno next year. He's earned an eternal contest spot.

I just hope Missingno doesn't flop next year! It'd suck to go from beating Crono and being close to Sephiroth to struggling to get 60% on Isaac!

And I imagine Missingno will probably do noticeably worse next year. Jokes seem to have a one-year apex and then they drop off. I think it'll still be the strongest joke overall, but I don't expect it to be beating Noble Niners next year.

But we'll see!

Missingno might drop in strength some, but he's always going to be very strong. The problem with L-Block is that his fanbase is based 100% around his contest run, making it very easy for him to fall off in strength over time. Missingno was beasting in his first match.

And yes, Stats Topic, Missingno does have an actual fanbase outside of being a joke character. I know this is hard to understand

This. L-Block cleanly lost to Kirby in its first match, and it's probably around that area strength-wise now. Missingno beat Crono its first-round match, so it's possible Missingno won't have a huge fall like L-Block and WCC.

At least, that's what I'm hoping! It'd be great to finally have another elite in the contest! I'm just worried that Pokefever won't be around next contest. You know how these things come and go!

I nominated ? Block for the past 2 contests and it didn't get into the contest at all.

And I'm surprised ? Block didn't make 2008 after the bonus match. It's incredibly well-known and could be the strongest object of any possibly nominated. I don't even think the Master or Buster Swords could match up with ? Block.

Of course, that doesn't mean it'd be strong now! I'm skeptical of nominating it at this point. At least Missingno is technically a Pokemon and actually has great intrinsic strength!

Is ? block even eligible? I mean, at least with L-Block I can imagine an argument that it's a character.

If ? block is eligible, then we should be pushing for Starman or 1-up mushroom or Tanuki Suit, since those are likely to be stronger.
------

On a side note, what is Yoshi's percentage on Sephiroth through MissingNo, and how does that compare to what we'd expect him to get? I would assume that MissingNo compresses the gap between the high level characters, and the proper way to counter to determine the relative strengths of Yoshi/Crono/Sephiroth is to assume that compression is roughly linear. (Linearity is probably a horrible assumption, but I'm not sure what would be a better one.)

You guys realize that we just saw a character put up well over 40% (I would love to see exact numbers) on Sephiroth in the dead hours of the night without any rallies? This guy is a legit Noble Niner before rallies even come into play.
