Oki doke. Mega Man is stronger than Sonic, and Sonic is the weakest of the N9, he would likely get beaten by Squall, Vincent and Auron. Possibly even Tifa.

No, I think it's safe to say Auron and Tifa won't be beating Sonic, and Squall/Vincent would definitely have a match on their hands. Sonic proved this year that he hasn't bombed nearly as bad as most of us figured after 2007/2008, but he's still at risk to lose to the next in line. It's just that Mega Man is on steroids and has set himself closer to Samus/Mario than the other clowns. I would have loved to have seen a Snake/Mega Man rematch, if only so I could murder the board when Mega Man won.

The bet was Solid > Mega Man, but when Zero made it into their four-way the account-bet was off. I then offered a sig-bet that Solid would beat Mega+Zero and he didn't accept. He has never admitted Solid would beat Mega Man in a fair match that year since then.

Snake had night matches against all his opponents. On the flip side, Mega Man had night matches against his opponents sans Hayabusa. When you factor that in...yeah.

And in the sprite round? Did you see Pikachu? Mega Man would be a lock to win that.

Vincent Valentine – 37.34%

Yoshi – 48.49%
Missingno – 51.51%

Analysis

This is the first match where I feel that if Missingno is going to win the contest we will know by the end of this match. Missingno has two paths to go through in this match, it is either mostly linear like L-Block and WCC were in this contest or it is non-linear meaning those that vote for Missingno are very likely to vote for it over the entire bracket. We should know which one we are dealing with by the end of the first five minutes.

I think a lot of people overrate the terribleness of Sephiroth’s board vote. I know it is one of the worst in the entire bracket, but at the same time he shouldn’t be losing to linear Missingno in the first five minutes. Missingno lost the board vote to Crono and Yoshi and while they are a lot better at the beginning than Sephiroth I would be surprised if either of those two characters led against Sephiroth after five minutes. There also seems to be a lot of hate going on for Missingno on the board which will probably help Sephiroth with the board vote.

In the case of the non-linear Missingno it has a great chance at taking the lead early on. Even if Missingno is only going at 50/50 at the beginning it has a great chance at winning since it at least gives people hope that Missingno has a chance which will possibly ramp up the rallying. While it is harder to rally at night there are also fewer votes coming in during a night match which should overall cancel each other out.

If Missingno starts off with a rather large lead then I think we’ve found our new contest champion, if it is close Missingno is not out of it despite Sephiroth’s bad board vote and should Sephiroth start off with a massive lead that pretty much ends Missingno’s run in this contest. Seeing how the other joke characters performed in this contest I have a feeling that after five minutes have passed we’ll be seeing the third option.

The Snake Mega Man beat is a little stronger now.

Not that I'd completely rule it out. I'm still giving Mega Man a slight, slight chance against Mario, but I'd still pick Snake and feel pretty confident about it.

Yeah, five and a half years ago and we've seen Solid beat him twice since then!

Solid **** loses in the sprite-round though, fair enough. He's the biggest reason why I don't like the sprite round, however...MG just doesn't exist to the majority of either MGS-fans or video gamers in general. Stop using the sprite like it's representational!

I'll wait until Mega Man faces someone we have an absolute solid read on (i.e., Mario) before I give him any chance against Snake. Beating Cid, Zack, and sprite Hayabusa isn't enough for me, honestly. We don't really have a completely clear idea on where those guys stand.
