And Sonic gets more games than Kirby does on a yearly basis, sure, but nothing the magnitude of Brawl.

Well he pointed out that Mega Man must be way stronger than previous years where he was projected to get 62% on Tidus. So I'm saying there isn't much variance there.

But that's terrible reasoning. Leon's saying MM would beat Tidus worse now, and you're saying he wouldn't, because he wouldn't have in 2006.

Well, if Sonic fails to hit 60 - 62% on Kirby I'm sure I'll come up with an excuse for it, like anti-blowout FAQs or whatever. Nobody has looked that great in this contest in terms of blowing out opposition.

I'll definitely question Sonic if he doesn't make it up past 58% though. In terms of his ability to beat Mega Man. But yeah. I'm hoping. He could always come up short.

Well logically speaking I would think MC and Yuna would take away more from Ganondorf than Luigi, but if you can't make that connection that's fine.

Either way I think that Sonic should be able to pull it out against Kirby.

Anti-blowout FAQs? Mega Man got the biggest blowout of the round against a solid midcarder. Are you trying to say that because of anti-blowout FAQs, Mega Man is actually worth more on Hayabusa? For reference:

Well Ganondorf is an action RPG main Villain (Yuna is an RPG character) and while Luigi is an icon of platforming games (I'm aware he has an RPG, but it's far and away from his main fanbase). I would assume that people who like Yuna are more likely to like Ganondorf than Luigi, and likewise with MC who thrives on being a 'badass' well...I mean you guys claim badass SFF in other matches I think it's likely that it would be the same there.

Regardless I don't like analyzing 4ways because they're a joke as there are many different variables. If you guys could find a better connection for Yuna and MC to Luigi I'd love to hear it.

Ryu Hayabusa has never gone against a N9 character before. It's hard to say what would have happened in previous years. Certain characters have shown to collapse completely against N9 characters whereas they aren't actually that weak. It's just because a lot of their fanbase is reliant on casuals (I'm just assuming that Ryu is a casual fan character).

Sonic proved he hasn't fallen QUITE as far as a lot of us expected, and Kirby proved that he isn't the Noble Nine breaking badass that 2008 made him out to be by disappointing on Vivi. This will be a surprisingly boring match that doesn't really tell us anything.

Intuitively I think taking out MC would be slightly (like < 51%) favorable to Ganondorf because younger kids like Master Chief and Ganondorf is more popular with younger kids than Luigi. Yuna would be slightly (again, < 51%) favorable to Luigi because Leon hates Ganondorf and Leon is a Yuna fan, and Leon is probably representative of a lot of people who place emphasis on character development.

But in case it wasn't clear, take that with a grain of salt!

Someone who likes FFX is more likely to play LoZ than they are to play Mario for sure. Both MC and Yuna in my opinion would draw from Ganondorf not Luigi. But anyway, lol 4 ways.

Crono, Mega Man and Sonic should be considered equal for right now until further evidence suggests otherwise. I think all 3 of them are still a good 2% or so ahead of the pack, excluding Missingno of course.

I couldn't stand FFX and I definitely prefer Zelda to Mario.

Seriously though, MC and Yuna would probably not affect Ganondorf/Luigi much at all. Probably not more than 1% in either direction.

At least silent protagonist LFF has reasons behind it: Link and Crono are both silent protagonists, time travel, carry swords, are courageous, explore the land, live/travel in a medieval setting, etc.

Assume Vincent plays a major role in KH3 (and KH3 comes out, say, 3 months before the next character battle, which let's say happens in the Summer of 2011), and Crono gets nothing as always.. How well do you think Vincent does against Crono in a 24 hour match?

Ah, you know it's funny, these people, they go to sleep. They think everything's fine, everything's good... They wake up the next day and they're on fire.

It's just agegroups and fanbases. It doesn't take a lot to realize that Yuna and MC would directly affect Ganondorf more than they would Luigi.

Anyway, this is pointless I don't use 4 way stats.

But can you explain to me how Mega Man has proven himself better than Crono but Sonic hasn't? What about Mega Man's performances this contest have been better than Sonic's?

So, what does happen when Pinocchio claims "my nose will now grow"?

Round 1: 63% on Cid vs. 63% on Lightning. I expected Cid >>> Lightning, though there's obviously no proof of that. Still confident in it though from intuition.
Round 2: 61% on Zack vs. 68% on Knuckles. 61% on Zack is very impressive, I've thought very highly of Zack for a long time. Sonic/Knux is SFF and tells us nothing.
Round 3: 72% on Hayabusa vs. 57% on Bacondorf. 72% on Hayabusa is really really impressive, a match that indicates Megaman might be able to hang with Mario. You know what? That's about as impressive as 57% on 2006 TP Hype Ganondorf would be, with a good picture.

To be fair, I don't think Mega Man would get that big of a boost from Brawl. I'm not sure that's enough to make him jump Mario/Samus.

Now, if Capcom could ever convince Square to put Mega Man in Kingdom Hearts 3 ...

I'm going to disagree with the assessment anyway. 57% on Ganondorf holds more weight as he's proven to hold up against the N9 already, and stronger competition. Who has Hayabusa faced? More importantly who has Hayabusa faced with his sprite pic? Lightning would beat Cid and I have no doubt about that whatsoever -- Cid has a very obscure fanbase for an FF7 character. Pretty much every character in the game has more attention than Cid and he barely made an appearance in Advent Children.

Wouldn't one expect that Mega Man would have also SFFed Zelda then? Or at least Zero?

Anyway...beating a face pic Zack doesn't seem like much of an accomplishment to me. Most of his appeal comes from being a black haired Cloud and lacking any similarity to Cloud in that match does no favors to him.

I thought Zack was strong, but I knew he was doomed as soon as I heard it was a face pic round. Anyone can attest to that. I thought he'd do better, though. Zack without Cloud is nothing, though.
