~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Solid Snake, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Tifa, Vincent, Zelda, Kirby, Missingno etc group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters in the past.

The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below.

I liked Metroid Prime for the most part, but I up and quit right before Meta Ridley because I was almost positive I didn't have enough health not to get destroyed, and I didn't feel like trying to figure out what I missed.

I played that thing for about a hour and just stopped. FPS on consoles are dual-analog stick or bust(Yes MP is a FPS, I don't care what "FPA" BS you wanna talk about).

Yes, but if you want "traditional" fighters the best 3 are Continuum Shift, 3rd Strike and whatever Guilty Gear is the best these days. It's sad how bad SF4 is in comparison compared to actual deep fighters.

Worse: Ten minutes of laughing from a game I have heard of. I was originally a Troper, remember? Originally found out about this place from an outbound link from the "Serious Business" page to the Board 8 wiki and liked what I saw.

I think I'd have been better off if I didn't know, because I've purposely tried to avoid getting to familiar with that series.

If there's one thing Metroid Prime did wrong, it was getting rid of lots of cool acrobatic moves from Super Metroid, though I understand it had to be done to fit the genre. In case you didn't know, Metroid Prime would've been from a third person perspective had it not been for Shigeru Miyamoto himself telling the designers to switch to a first person perspective. Miyamoto actually likes the concept, and he was even going to make Ocarina of Time in first person view, but he felt that when you are playing as a child character, the child needs to be seen on screen, so Ocarina of Time was kept in third person. But there was no such restriction for Metroid Prime, and so, therefore, yeah.

Snake rocking the morning vote.

At this point, I'm not surprised.
