I don't think that picture is really so bad for Leon, honestly. It's just a random guy with a gun and you get to recognize him from the background.
Pikachu is going to look like a crazy near-elite with that pic and Sanke's pic though. I actually think those could be worth a 5% swing.

Man, I don't know how you can say Leon's pic isn't so bad and then talk about how Pikachu's going to overperform on Snake because of the sprite in the same post.

It's still Pikachu. He only managed 61% against Shepard. Granted Shep could be improved enough to look that way but at the end of the day, Pikachu still picks up so many antivotes. Leon's picture will end up affecting him a lot more than Snake's.

I'm bracing for an absolutely dreadful Snake performance. Pikachu just dominates that picture. Granted, a night match and the fact that Pikachu does seem to be a bit weaker in this format (61% on Shepard; I'm not buying that as good) could help Snake, but better to ready oneself for the worst imo.

Cloud moseying over 66%. Why does every Cloud match start this way in this topic? Cloud starts off bad, increases the entire match and at the end looks fine. Haven't you guys learned that yet? If Falcon was legit in the first two rounds, I think Cloud will end up looking just fine come the end.

Leon was awful in 07 when he got a clear RE2 pic. That match will probably get ugly. The only thing going for him is that I think T vs C is losing a little steam in the top 10 Wii games list. IIRC, I think it was the 2nd most popular one when he faced Dante. But, I wouldn't think that really factors in until it's completely gone.

You guys are clearly ignoring the most important thing. Leon boosted with RE5, and is now above Ryu on the hierarchy. Therefore he SFFs Ryu into dust.

Cloud is also currently very close to the first clean sweep of the contest, with only 1 country opposing him. Anyone wanna fly over there and clean it up for him?

Cloud only doing 2.6% worse than his match with Ridley now. He needs to bring it down to 1.72% to breach 70%

Imagine if Cloud does that and Ridley > Falcon wat occurs.

The fact that Cloud is accelerating so much higher than he did against Ridley and Chris can only mean one thing. The FFXIII boost has augmented Cloud's percentage increasing capabilities

There have only been two updates so far that CF has gone up in percentage thus far, collectively adding up to .03%...all the rest have been Cloud gaining percentage. In fact, twenty-five of the forty-one updates thus far have had Cloud knock off .1% or more. Pretty impressive for a guy who couldn't break 59% after the board vote.

How right you are Harrich. Cloud gained about 9% from Freeze to end against Ridley. He's already gained 8% right now just 3.5 hours in

Does anyone know why the poll updates a minute late at certain points? Why isn't it even 5-minute intervals the entire time?

Falcon is going to end up comfortably ahead of Chris Redfield, someone he may not even be able to beat 1v1. I'd say he's going to look pretty damn impressive here.

Cloud's still not going to reach 70% here, and CF will probably cut off a little percentage come morning. This may no longer be as impressive for CF as we'd hoped/thought/overreacted, but it's by no means impressive for Cloud.

Falcon is impressing here. He's doing better against Cloud than he did against Crono in 2006, after all.

So have we seen the delayed Brawl boost, that we thought was going to magically boost obscurish Nintendo characters into decent midcarder levels last contest? Personally I think that a character should not boost so much from one game, and that doing so much better than expected would mean that the other character somehow took a downfall. In this case, Cloud may be a much stronger version of Master Chief now, in that everybody overperforms against him due to receiving anti-votes. It may be possible.

But why is Final Fantasy VII anti-voted so much? In my opinion Final Fantasy VII is just as much overrated as Ocarina of Time is, if either game is overrated, and IMO neither one is overrated at all. Granted it's based entirely on me watching somebody play FF7 on YouTube, but it looked very deserving of the critical acclaim it gets, and very undeserving of all the random flak.

So in 2 years we see FF7 lose to Brawl? Great, that'll be the worse than anything we saw during the games contest.

err isn't this horribly pathetic from Cloud? At his peak he doubled noble niners like Sonic, now he's struggling to do so with fodder like Falcon?

This isn't that bad. It's not great, but it's about what should be expected, especially by the end of the poll.

Last year Falcon would have been close to equal to Alucard without Diddy and Kratos in the poll, and when you match this up with Link/Alucard, it ends up with Link beating Cloud by a few %, which isn't all that shocking.

It's been a different contest, Smurf. Even Link hasn't been getting the blowouts we've been accustomed to, and Cloud has been anti-voted heavily against two pure-blood Nintendo characters already. The biggest blowout so far has been 81% for Mario against Falco. Seems like more voters like rooting for the underdogs and aren't interested in watching the proven powerhouses demolish everything.

This is disappointing for Cloud because he's doing 6% worse on Falcon than CRONO did in '06, and this in a match where Cloud gets his best time and skips his worst time, which also happens to be Falcon's best time.

And wait, Mortal Kombat characters are best in the day? Wow, that does not make sense to me. Oh well, Samus is currently looking better than Cloud, but the worst thing about Samus > Cloud if it happens will be that it'll prove nothing about the Metroid series, and will simply prove that this site has turned into an SSB frenzy. Grrrrrrrr.......
