To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA
To compare how C would do against B ---> [(CvA)/(BvA)]*50 = CvB
To figure out how B would do against A ---> [(CvA)/(CvB)]*50 = BvA

~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Solid Snake, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Tifa, Vincent, Zelda, Kirby, Missingno etc group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters in the past.

The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below.

Character Battle VIII - 133/168 - Today's Winners: Cloud and Ryu

Chrono Trigger seems to have done well with sprites.

I dunno. Frog faced Snake. I dunno if I'd blame Link/Magus on Magus's sprite as much as I'd blame it on Link's, if I'd blame that on the sprite at all. We got Mario/Crono twice in the sprite round, and I don't think it affected much.

although Sephiroth has an indirectly worse board vote.

Cloud's board vote seems to be worse than Sephiroth's, by looking at both of their round 1 matches. Sephiroth was about 1.5% higher than Cloud at the board vote in round 1 and Marth should be stronger than Ridley.

Cloud's only doing 3.7% worse now then he did against Ridley. He could still approach 70%. Which is fine by him. Falcon would wreck Ridley. I was still hoping for 70% though. I suppose even Link with all his flopping this contest may still have a chance at beating him.

Chrono Trigger seems to have done well with sprites.

Because the CT cast exists ONLY in one game where they're given sprites and nothing but. Cloud's popularity is chiefly FFVII and could be lightly peppered with a bit of KH and KHII. Now, I doubt these sprite pics hurt the new FF characters significantly, but there's no reason to believe it does any favors for them. Chain of Memories is the weakest game any of them has been in, and none of their fans know them as sprites first. CT is the opposite.

Man, Cloud was able to get 60% on Samus in 2004 with an Ehrgeiz pic!

And I'd say Ehrgeiz is probably more obscure than Chain of Memories, if I had to guess.

Where do you guys think Cloud ends up? Captain Falcon probably got the biggest boost from Brawl. Man, I still remember the time he got nearly tripled by Crono. What kind of boost does that give Captain Falcon since then?

That's what happens when you're Cloud and facing a strong board vote character. But that last update was not as good as the previous ones. How awesome would it be if CF stalled out the hour at 62.5%?

I predict Cloud ends up with 67.5%. Which is disappointing.

Falcon is down to 3.5% better than Ridley.

Against Chris, Cloud finished every hour at a higher percentage than he began the hour with. I dunno if he'll be able to pull that off against Falcon because of the morning, but I miss Cloud bein' like this!
