Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~ SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them. X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process. Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Solid Snake, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man. Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Tifa, Vincent, Zelda, Kirby, Missingno etc group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters in the past. The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below. For other information, surf the contest sites a bit. They have everything. --- ·.,¸¸,.·´¯`·.,¸¸,.·´¯`·.,¸¸,.~*ST*~.,¸¸,.·´¯`·.,¸¸,.·´`·.,¸¸,.· http://i48.tinypic.com/1ryijd.jpg |

It is when you think Samus has dropped off since then! And why would you think that? She had a great year as usual in 2007, trouncing Megaman to the tune of 60%+ once Yoshi was out of the poll, and putting up 41% on Cloud, with MM in the poll even. In 2008, she put up her best performance on Mario ever, while being at the bottom of Triple SFF. This year she's impressed twice in 2 rounds so far, before this match. --- Missingno's quest to avenge Crono - Round 3: Sephiroth!!! Tidus/Ridley, who ya got? And the quarterfinals should probably be all day matches. Only two of them have any chance at being meaningful, but there's only four so it's not like we'd have to suffer much. But I guess we haven't seen any matches where the winner flips (that I can remember), so it probably doesn't make much of a difference. --- Mustache...and Green... |

Missingno has been coasting on the Pokemon vote for the day, so now it will utilize the joke night vote against Seph. Today and tomorrow are going to be boring. At least we have the novelty of Solid ****/Pikachu, the showdown between Auron and Squall, and the ridiculous Seph/Missingno to look forward to. At least Round 4 should be more exciting! a comparison, Sub is doing .11% better than Jill was at this time. He
is doing much better in EU and asia than NA, so there is a very good
chance he could finish above 33%. Considering a weaker 2k6 auron got
40.30% on sub, Im not sure how this makes samus look overall. --- hmmmmmmmm |

Subz is doing an absolutely fantastic job (41%+ in all regions but Oceania, where he has 36%) everywhere but North America. Roughly
even Jill and Sub at night is an easy nod to Sub in a 24 hour match for
fairly obvious reasons. I still have a gut feeling about Jill though...
eh, iunno. I wouldn't judge Samus based solely off of what she was "supposed" to get on Sub four years ago. The way he took down Tidus and Roxas is also pretty inspiring, and you can make some very nice comparisons for Samus based off of that. Methinks she's gonna look scary good with the Power Hour come Cloud, but her big dropoffs post-PH are gonna make her look barely satisfactory by the end. --- http://i48.tinypic.com/1ryijd.jpg http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs14/f/2007/020/b/f/Ariel_by_lolita_art.jpg |

heh,
just for comparison.. 2k6 Auron would be estimated to finish over 41%

obvious sub will go up a couple more %.. so 43% on by 2k6 auron. Who
hit 45% on Crono. Considering 2k6 crono isn't even supposed to get 42%
