I just realized what the D in Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's stands for....Don't watch it!

Also I don't see why people see this as such a surprise. Bowser has finished higher in the 1v1 x-stats than Sora every year except for one, and even then Sora wasn't a huge amount above Bowser. Ganondorf has also always finished above Bowser every year except for one. Ganon > Bowser > Sora.

This definitely is a good performance by bowser though, however it should end with Bowser at about 53% and that would be about right considering past contests.

So assuming Ganon > Bowser (safe assumption, considering the trends that are emerging in this contest), how strong does this make Sonic look, and how badly is Sonic going to kirby-stomp?

I don't see how Bowser looked bad in 2006? He only finished slightly lower than Sora, and even then he had to face the Crono/Mario factor which probably had him undervalued.

X-stats are never perfect, though, and I would say that Bowser has looked more impressive consistently than Sora. So this shouldn't be a surprise. I picked Sora, but I knew full well that there was a chance Bowser could easily win.

Bowser looked awful in 2006. 55% on Leon Kennedy and 42% on Crono during CT's huge dropoff year is sad. Dude was equal to Ryu in those stats after 60-40ing him the previous year.

Ganondorf has always consistently been better than Bowser -- shown against direct opponents.

That said Ganon would probably only win by the hair of his teeth -- 52% max.

Taking that into account Ganon > Bowser > Kirby, Sonic should easily be pushing 60% on that dum pink ball.

FFXIII is bound to give Cloud a boost, combined with anti-alwaysthesamewinner factor I think Cloud has an outside shot at an upset.

That is if Sonic doesn't dispose of Link first.

Assume a round 1 match next year, no KH3 announced yet. On the other hand, a F-Zero game with God of War style gameplay for Captain Falcon's bounty hunter segments, where he gets money to buy parts for his car and race like always was just announced.

...I'd give the Captain around 12% of chance with the above factors considered.

First Mega Man has never had great bracket support relative to other noble nine characters. Second Master Chief always takes a good chunk of bracket support.
