Is everyone ready for the Sonic train to steamroll Ganondorf? I don't know why people are even giving him a chance. The range for Sonic is 54 - 60. There is no chance for an upset.

Yeah, I'm liking Tifa > Vincent about now. How Tifa does on Seph if he makes it that far should be interesting to see... Its too bad Tifa hasn't really gotten many opportunities to show her strength since KH and Advent Children but she has gotten stronger no doubt.

Valve did confirm a complete sequel to Portal, not just extra levels, but Portal 2 in February 2008.

A patch and DLC to the first game this week has a lot of people suspicious that there will be an announcement about Portal 2 at the GDC.
---
I hope there is.

I made some risky choices while making my bracket. Some worked out, such as Sub-Zero > Tidus and Roxas, Sackboy > Kratos A, Falcon > Riku and Big Daddy > Soap and Ness.

But then there were choices like Gordon > Tifa. :\

---
CURRENT BRACKET SCORE: 108.
Next five choices: Gordon, Link, Luigi, Sonic, Kirby
LeonhartFour | Posted 3/4/2010 11:22:26 AM | message detail
it could just mean Tifa's been stronger than Vincent since 2006 and we just didn't know it!

Which would be fine with me, and it STILL means New Square's fine!

And Mario characters are supposed to be stronger this year, after all!

And the interesting thing is that if the Tifa/Peach ratio from 2006 has stayed the same, Tifa wins this match with 62.62% here. It should end up close to that.

It looks like Gordon might continue going up, but probably not a lot. This isn't exactly the performance I had hoped for -- I was crossing my fingers for 40+%, so hopefully he'll continue getting closer to that with FF7's poor day-vote.

Whoever said he might be related to Ali G is onto something though...haha, I could see that.

As for Sonic...it's really weird, but I've grown more confident in Sonic since R1. Ammy was once looked down upon and made Shadow's loss look terrible, but she impressed enough against Luigi to turn out okay. Cecil was once a joke, but Kefka and Terra say it's no coincidence these old-Square characters in Dissidia have vastly improved, so Knuckles isn't so embarrassing. Tails impressed against Kratos and was close to winning its vote-in poll (thanks to LFF, but the point stands), but we read it as a chance to laugh at Kratos...but if Charizard's a legitimate contender for winning his division, there's not much to laugh at Kratos for. Sonic doubled Knuckles when once upon a time Knuckles won the Sonic-characters poll, so Sonic's still got plenty of support in his fanbase despite what Lightning did. Really, she's the only evidence against Sonic-characters looking okay, and between her being new and the majority of our elite characters under-performing in R1, it could be forgivable.

Ganon's looked mostly fine too, but if Sonic Team hasn't dropped like four-ways suggested, it's still going to be hard to take him to beat Sonic, especially in the sprite-round.

I haven't played it, but apparently the ending is changed and you can interact with the in-game radios. Apparently this gives out clues in morse code or some such nonsense.

But I think the internet is having fun with it.

Someone told me that daylight savings time ends next week. Is this true? Are we gonna get one match cut down to 11 hours?

Man, imagine what kind of controversy that could cause if we have a close match at the end of the 11th hour or a comeback attempt that falls short because of the lost hour!

I felt these matchups were complete toss-ups pre-contest (ie, the hardest for me to pick, especially cause I really really liked both characters in said matches). Ultimately fanboyism reigned supreme

Charizard>Kratos
Dante>Ryu
Squall> Auron

But then I saw that I pretty much had a cookie cutter guru bracket for the most part so

Snake>Sephiroth was my attempt at indivduality ;_; lol.

But hey if it pans out I may get top 5 on the leaderboard! (I wonder how many top 50 brackets have this upset)

Oh and I'm with Extha as one of the nine 110 brackets not on the leaderboard (lol what decides the order of people with ties? whoever filled their bracket first?)

That's what I get for listening to Albion about match dates!

Mario vs. Mega Man, huh?

...It's almost like Bacon planned it out this way! Mario wins with extra time, and now he wins because of subtracted time!

Well it's also a weekend, and 11:00 to 12:00 probably counts towards the morning vote for Mario, so taking that hour away is probably better for Megaman.

But Bacon never quite seems to get these time changes right.

Not divided by gens and 1 vs 1 are the two most important factors for a games contest, with both of these it doesn't matter if its 64 or 128 characters or 12 or 24 hours.

Bowser Fact of the Match: last year, Dr. Freeman did .7% better on Samus-with-by-Ganondorf than Frog. That gives Bowser a fairly close win over Tifa.

And I'm back in the top ten. Hooray! I only went up to 12th in the Oracle, though, so I'm no longer tied.

Sonic/Ganondorf basically comes down to Ken vs Lightning. I would take Ken but not feel terribly confident about it.

Yep. Guru contest gets you a nom for the next contest, unless it's something stupid like that top 100 list.
