Yoshi is the fan favorite of the Mario series, rallying against him would be extremely hard. It is possible to rally against any character. If you don't believe in that, then L-Block shouldn't have been able to beat Link back in 2007. And yet, L-Block managed to beat Link anyways despite that. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as KrahenProphet, Guru Champ! |

You
know, we've got a great gauntlet coming up in round 3, and I really
hope it lives up to expectations. I remember when we had a big gauntlet
like this in round 2 of SC2K5, and it flopped. Remember all the hype
pre-contest for: Ganondorf/Auron Snake/Zelda Sora/Alucard Kirby/Tidus Bowser/Ryu (two days later) Dante/Vincent Knuckles/Squall What a dud that gauntlet turned out to be. The best match there turned out to be one we weren't even hyped for (MC/DK)! --- "Hold on a minute! That testimony stinks!" "Witness! You can't just say 'Hello' and expect us to get anywhere! Hmmm. Sure didn't sound like teasing, but alright, no prob. And really, track record is just about the worst thing to try and diss me about, heh :p And I agree with Luster. If Missingno/Yoshi is somehow 50/50, then I'd give the cheating/rallying edge to Missingno. Jokes tend to top everything when it comes to mystical "clutch" powers. I'm
actually pretty intrigued to see L-Block/Charizard because I want to
see how the Block fares against someone of equal or greater strength
1-on-1. It hasn't been challenged yet, and it hasn't needed any
rallying. I remember L-Block/Ryu, Cube/Tidus, and Cube/Mega Man in
2008, it seemed like EVERY TIME the other character was getting ready
to make a serious charge at the lead, it would get a suspicious spike
or two. I wonder if the same thing might happen here. Seemed to happen
in Crono/Missingno, too. --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Using my powers...It is you humans...I fear..." |

Seriously, if you guys are assuming cheat/rallies then MissingNo. already out-cheat/rallied Crono in the final hour. And you think he'll have problems doing it to Yoshi? |
red sox 777 | Posted 3/2/2010 10:32:17 PM | message detail |
Yeah, no joke has ever lost a close match, ever. Crono's A+ SNV got buried by Missingno. Crono's not an easy character to rally against either (who hates Crono?) and it's virtually impossible to rally against a joke. "Go to Gamefaqs and vote for X against (Joke)" just makes X look pathetic. --- Missingno's quest to avenge Crono - Round 2: Yoshi |
Team Rocket Elite (Moderator) | Posted 3/2/2010 10:32:22 PM | message detail |
Ulti, do you know for sure that Missingno. was rallied and that it heavily brought in more voters? I remember CE getting tons of "Vote for Missingno." topics on the day of the match and they normally don't talk about the contest too much. I'm not sure how much this actually brought in or what it was like on other places, though. --- Every night will have a day. Even forever has to come to an end. 2/14/2010 24:00 EST |

Should I make a list? 1. Missingno is stronger than L-Block. This can't really be debated. Beating Crono>anything Block has done in the past two years. 2. Kratos would beat L-Block. He's just another character at this point. 3. Sales? Really? --- http://i46.tinypic.com/v4o0mx.jpg best sig bet EVER |
creativename | Posted 3/2/2010 10:35:17 PM | message detail |
From: LeonhartFour | #851 I think Char would be the one rallied more there, because I'm not sure L-Block really qualifies as "joke" anymore. I'm not entirely sure but I think he's a normal entrant basically. The bandwagoning and momentum should favor Char. Highly doubt Char would need it anyway. From: TheOneAboveAll | #853 Crono has the worst cheaters around, they suck. Only time they were able to do anything was against Vincent, a FF7 character. Undoubtedly Team Yoshi would be more effective than Team Crono. --- gamefaqscontests.com gamefaqscontests.com/gallery |

1.
Missingno is stronger than L-Block. This can't really be debated.
Beating Crono>anything Block has done in the past two years. L-Block doesn't have to be at Crono levels to beat Charizard. Honestly, if that match is ANYWHERE close after 1 hour, I'd almost guarantee L-Block wins it. --- "Stay with me until the end. Please." "Not until the end. Always." |

It's not too late to have 2 joke bandwagons in this contest. L-Block > Mario. Missingno > Cloud. Link to save the day! --- Missingno's quest to avenge Crono - Round 2: Yoshi |
-LusterSoldier- | Posted 3/2/2010 10:37:45 PM | message detail |
I
think Missingno has a good shot at winning against Yoshi without any
rallying. In the year that L-Block won, there was no rallying for
L-Block for the first 3 rounds. L-Block's continuous wins over
characters he previously lost to were the result of the bandwagon
growing in strength. There wasn't any rallying for L-Block that I know
of until round 4 when it was finally in a position to upset Snake and
come in first place for the first time. So even without rallying in the next match, Missingno could still win if it got stronger due to a growing bandwagon. --- Luster Soldier --- ~Shield Bearer~ | ~Data Analyst~ Popular at school, but not as cool as KrahenProphet, Guru Champ! |

From: KamikazePotato | #859 Well I just checked and apaprently it's a Sunday :) But yeah. Char is pretty much the worst character (other than Missingno) for L to try and rally against. Vincent still looks quite probably to finish above 37%, which is terrific for him. I wonder how Tifa would do, if Sephiroth beats the glitch.
