Why on earth can't Sephiroth SFF smash people? WHY?

What's with all this Snake/Seph talk? I mean, I'd love to pretend that Missingno doesn't exist, but the glitch has a serious shot at the finals if Seph is getting this anti-voted against freakin' Vincent.

I think Vincent's just cemented himself as the strongest of the near-elites, though I still think Squall would have a shot at him.

And I love how good this makes Crono look! By the way, if Seph ends at 58%, Samus is expected to get 47% on him.

For the record, Sephiroth is projected to get 60.75% on Vincent based on the 2008 stats (though Vincent's probably a bit inflated there).

Anyone who thought Seph would crush Vincent horribly with SFF in 1v1 relied too much on four-way results. SFF is much bigger when you include two other characters that may threaten the bigger name.

Why hello there Link/Ganon

How are you today?
-LusterSoldier- | Posted 3/2/2010 9:07:34 PM | message detail
XD, if Sephiroth doesn't finish above 60% here, we could make a very good case for rSFF. It also means that Sephiroth is in trouble against Missingno.

Well it's going to get over 60% thanks to Sephiroth's anti votes. But I don't think Vincent is a super board vote guy either so it probably won't be super higher than 60%

Overreaction zone.

This

I remember when Terra had >38%. (Good times, good times.) And that was with Squall. You think Sephiroth can't do better than that?
TheOneAboveAll | Posted 3/2/2010 9:10:05 PM | message detail
So what can explain this? rSFF? Becuase 2007 Vincent got 23% on Sephiroth. LOL 4-ways all you want, but this is a 20% difference. And I thought it would be worse because I thought Vincent had got some "obvious last place" votes in a poll with 3 of the other 4 strongest characters out there.

Yeah, Sephiroth will be just fine. Still not worried about Missingno against this guy. This match will give us a good idea of how far above Crono Sephiroth is anyway.

Gear Division Fourth Quarter

Squall Leonhart – 50.00%
Terra Branford – 35.48%
Darth Revan – 32.73%
Akuma – 31.99%

Akuma gets 48.87% on Revan and 45.08% on Terra.

The overreaction is how bad you guys are making this particular performance out to be. Vincent is near elite, possibly stronger than Crono and Sonic. I fail to see how what Sephiroth will end up putting on him isn't great.

I think if Missingno does not get rallying like he did against Crono, he'll need to get his lead up to at least 3000 at its peak to withstand the last 8 hours of the match. If he does get rallying, all bets are off, but each 1000 Missingno fails to add to his peak lead is probably around 2500 extra votes he has to rally.

Missingno needs to get stronger to be a real threat. And he might - L-Block certainly did in his first year, and so did the Weighted Companion Cube. But if you look at, say, Mudkip, he didn't get appreciably stronger between rounds in 2008, and in 2007 was likely just taking advantage of LFF. And L and WCC both looked fairly bad in the second round. I don't think it's a given that Missingno builds up enough strength to beat Sephy.

The board vote will be absolutely glorious, though.

Why is everyone trying to read Crono through Vincent through 4-ways? Assuming Crono=Missingno. we'll know exactly how these two stack up in about a week-and-a-half. Unless Missingno gets a huge bandwagon by then (which I doubt, I think the ridiculous votals from round 1 show he has legitimate strength coming in), that match will give us an almost-perfect read of how Crono/Sephiroth would have gone.

You're stupid if you think this match is going to go 100% for either character at this rate.

Missingno just pulled off a huge upset in Round ****ing 1 and has a bit of time to gain momentum. Sephiroth is the third strongest character in the contest by far (lol Snake).

This match doesn't change my mind one way or the other. I'm leaning toward Sephiroth still, but I'm not counting Missingno out yet.

For one, Cube isn't as big of a joke character in terms of appeal. Its from a PC game a lot of people haven't played. Pokemno is closer to tetris in terms of "Everyone has played"

Plus, Cube started off losing to Tidus. Missingno started off breaking the noble 9. Theres obviously a huge gap in strength there, so even the little bit of bandwagon should help Missingno tremendously.
