I'm
pretty sure all of us rational people can agree that the "Pic Factor"
only applies in extreme cases like Solid **** and Zero Suit Samus.
Dante is perfectly recognizable here, and to say otherwise is simply

still don't understand how Snake didn't underperform with that
abomination he got against Zelda in 2005. I guess there's an argument
to be made that Child Zelda underperforms as well, although how a
picture of someone in the form she appears in in one of OoT's most
iconic (if not the most iconic) scenes can cause her to underperform is

If we had some sort of split-testing data, I'm sure we'd find all sorts of weird "Wow, that picture did so much better than that other picture?" type of stuff that would surprise us. The thing here is a) that this is not some extreme case of horribly ugly picture; b) there's no evidence this hurts Dante's performance; c) Dante's performance isn't out of line with what was expected going into the match - this was thought to be a close match. As
someone who's only played a little bit of DMC, that's not a bad pic of
Dante. It's not a good pic either, and I think characters like Dante
are probably more picture sensitive than others because they depend

There's
not evidence that Zelda didn't do better (or worse) in that match than
she should have, anyway. Snake's entire 2k5 path (Sora, Bowser) is a

Pictures
can certainly have an effect on characters, especially when it
completely alters their normal look. The thing is, DMC2 Dante doesn't
look bad and it doesn't change his design. The people who are hating on
that pic know that it's from DMC2 and hate it because it represents the
game. Most voters couldn't tell you where which DMC game Dante's pics
come from -- this could be from DMC1 for all they know. Now, it is
close enough that switching to a better pic could flip the
result, but all you're doing there is giving Dante a pic advantage
instead of leveling the field. This pic of Ryu isn't the best thing
he's ever gotten, there are plenty out there that are better. So if you
give him a DMC3 pic, then we're fixing Ryu's pic, too, and ultimately
we end up where we are now. Pretty much the same result. --- wheresoever you go, go with all your heart |

a match with that map of the world -- China, Korea, and Japan are all

Dernerner...Ryu > Dante is awesome. However, if you think the pic is affecting the outcome you are ridiculous. There is no difference in that pic than in any other face pic Dante could have gotten. would the source of the pic matter, especially since most haven't even
played DMC2? It's not like Auron's action figure pic or the occasional
