Having played some
Pokemon, it took the picture for me to recognize Gyarados...and
whatever. I've never heard him talked about before this discussion and

Gyarados
wouldn't be beastly at all, it's badass looking sure, but loads of
pokemon looks badass, I'd take blastoise or above him though, I'd take
mew over him. Mew has such mystique surrounding him amongst older players that he'd get votes just because of how he seemed uncatchable when we was young and didn't have gamefaqs to rely on. It's like we weren't even sure if you could actually get him or not. --- Shakes Fist! |

Made me think, I wonder how Gardevoir would do in those contest, seriously xD I don't know who the hell that is, but since its obviously not RBY, it would be ultra fodder. Banjo would beat it. |

Actually
Alakazam might have a lot of strength. He's everyone's psychic of

Yeah,
Alakazam would be my choice if we were trying for another Pokemon...but
it should be said none will match Charizard or especially Missingno,

It'd make my year if Psyduck made a bracket. Seriously, that'd be freakin' amazing! Yeah, Alakazam could be really popular too. because a Pokemon is popular among the fanbase doesn't mean they'll
have contest strength. They need relevance. Exposure beyond the games
and a few appearances in the anime. ...and Gyarados has all of these? Anyway I just realized another potentially really popular pokemon would be Meowth. Confirm/Deny If I had to rate them honestly this is where I would rate potential pokemon strength in order. wake up and... hahaha. Congrats to those who saw this coming. Honestly,
Captain Falcon has been behind SFF since 06, where he looked horrible.
Well he got 45% on Alucard with SFF, so maybe that was better than I
gave it credit for. He definitely wouldn't get tripled by Crono today. For the rest of Nintendo, it seemed like the Brawl hype in 06 did more for it than the actual game. Fact: Charizard put up almost the exact same percentage on Kratos that

Yeah,
other than the starters from RBY. the only other pokémon with relevance
are mewtwo for being the all powerful godkiller and meowth for his team

I'm
a fan of pokemon, of course, but I'd really like to see more get in
because they're a source of characters that would actually have
strength that we don't have a bead on yet. Charizard and Lucario have
both been worthwhile entrants with a huge plausible range of strength,
and I for one wouldn't mind seeing one new pokemon entrant per contest
to make things interesting... Gyarados, squirtile, Blastoise,
Tyranitar, some of the legendary birds, or one of the eeveelutions
would be good for starters. |

Sonic/Kirby-pic does both sides lots of justice and I love it. That

Lucario have both been worthwhile entrants with a huge plausible range of strength, Lucario was not worthwhile at all. He got doubled by Altair. You know, the same Altair that got his ass kicked by Vivi last week. He struggled to beat Isaac. Lucario proved to be fodder and as such he has not been in a contest since. |

Yeah.
I really don't think "it's a pokemon!" is going to get the job done.
Like I said before, Squirtle would probably be pretty decent and I
could live with myself supporting it. A whole bunch of others supported
by fanboyish opinions? Nah... I'd much rather just go with a 64
pokemon-only contest, then we could perhaps get a good gauge on what's
legitimately popular. In my opinion, it's just a little too hard to
guess beyond the obvious ones. --- :> |
