So I see that everyone has jumped off the Samus > Cloud bandwagon, eh?

I still find that match a toss up. The main reason is that everything New Square (FF7, FF8, FFX, FF12, KH) has been really sucking it up this contest. How many impressive matches has New Square had this contest, anyway? And bear in mind that Cloud's 72% on Chris is only impressive in respect to how poorly he did against Ridley. Had he scored 80% or so on Ridley like in some projections, I guarantee that we would find "only 72%" on Chris disappointing.

Jill > Chris is pretty damn obvious; when you consider that female characters are generally weaker than male leads, and yet Jill was in more contests and has a more impressive resume than Chris. Clearly, this indicates that she is higher within the Resident Evil fanbase. Add that to the fact that Samus' match was during her worst time, and Cloud's match was during his best.

It really is too bad that Samus/Cloud is a night match, but Samus still has a small chance of victory against Cloud. Maybe 15% or so.

So I see that everyone has jumped off the Samus > Cloud bandwagon, eh?

Remember, KH always looks good in the X-Stats. Riku probably realised that he would get SFF'd by Cloud so bad, that he thought that Faclon would give him a better value at the end!

If it were a weekday? I suppose it's within that "less than 1%" realm of possibility, especially when you consider who the board would back at the end. Weekend? This thing is wrapped up with a cute little bow on top.

Hmmm... Sora/Bowser is a match I'm not so sure about. I'd favor Bowser, but we've been left to cringe at most of his matches ever since he looked good against Solid **** in 2005...

But it's Wander. The guy was 127th in the stats last year.

Still not too worried about Sora against Bowser. It's not exactly like Bowser's been lights out either. That match is in tossup territory.

Not really worried about Dante/Ryu either. Dante's looked better than Ryu every year since DMC3 came out. The only thing that works in Ryu's favor is Dante's tendency to underperform against the big boys, but whether that's a real or perceived thing, it's hard to say. I'll still take Axel over Balthier. I think people are forgetting just how pathetic Balthier is.

Not that Kingdom Hearts looks that great, but Riku didn't exactly look great last year either. He ended up closer to Siegfried than he did to Leon in round 1, and he ended up closer to Hogger than he did to Dante in round 2. Riku losing this match was always a possibility, but I didn't really have very much faith in Captain Falcon. I thought his 4-way results were too LFF-heavy to take at face value, but it looks like he's pretty decent nowadays.
