Yeah, I had Bowser > Sora from the beginning, but this makes it feel even safer because Falcon is massively exceeding my expectations. Has he just been victimized by bad bracket placement all these years? Actually, I suppose he has. In his debut in 2006, he got a round one match with Crono, who nearly tripled him--but Crono was the favorite to win the whole thing that year because Clinkeroth+Mario were all removed from the main bracket. In 2007, he ate the ass end of 3-way Brawl SFF with Fox and Wario and still managed to avoid last place (it helps that the fourth was Banjo, who is both extremely fodderriffic and vaguely Nintendo himself). In 2008...he got the plus-side of SFF with Diddy Kong before again getting beaten by SFF, this time in the form of Pikachu--and this time, he was fourth. So while he hasn't had any impressive performances...the only result he had prior to this year that wasn't affected by SFF was 25.84% against Crono in 2006. to a serious note, Bowser > Sora looks pretty good right now. KH has
just fallen off I think, the lack of Kingdom Hearts 3 probably doesn't
help out much. Perhaps if Square had announced it officially by now
(like really officially) things would be different. It's hard to buy
Falcon after he's always been crap before now... still, in reality this
is sort of the result I'd expect had I no knowledge at all of the
contest. Maybe Brawl is finally giving some sort of boost we were all
looking for last year, Ridley and Falcon could be evidence of that. --- :> |

I have a feeling Vault Boy is a solid midcarder, while Sackboy strikes me as a low midcarder on the verge of being high fodder. Oh, and Sackboy's match picture is mediocre too. Fact. And on another completely serious note, charon has whined incessantly in the stats topic and elsewhere about every single match,
all the way back to the original vote-in with Missingno, where there
has been a fun and/or unpredictable result. That isn't trolling; it's
an absolute documented fact. Look it up yourself:

I know the "original 8" argument won't work well since Jigglypuff is terrible, but being in every SSB game has to count for something. He's become a pretty recognizable character for that, and he has catchy sayings that attract a lot of people and looks cool... a lot cooler than Jigglypuff anyway. He's always underperformed a bit, but I always considered him low midcard. This would put him a lot closer to just plain midcarder I think, even though KH hasn't looked very good so far. --- :> |

Falcon
has been legitimately screwed by bracket placement. His one non-SFF
match was what, a first round match with 1 seed Crono? I feared today's
upset for awhile, but stuck with Riku because it was a day match with

he could do fairly well for himself in a better situation - being up

vote-ins really did kill off a lot of potential board favourites, the
only new characters I would like to see that didn't qualify are
