To figure out a character's Xsts Percentage ---> [(CvB)(BvA)]/50 = CvA

~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Solid Snake, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Tifa, Vincent, Zelda, Kirby, Missingno etc group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters in the past.

The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below.

The DSV is a bad time for KH, for example in Frog/Axel, Frog got his lead to 1500 with the first 3 hours, Axel cut it to 1200 with the overnight and morning, and Frog built it up to 1900 with the DSV. Then of course Axel swung 2200 with the ASV before losing to Frog's greatest final hour rally.

I have Sub-Zero winning today, so that helps ease the pain of Charizard > Kratos a bit. Plus, since Roxas is underwhelming here, maybe Falcon has a chance against Riku after all!

Remember that Riku got Ramza in a night match. He won't have an ASV against Falcon, but going from night to day probably helps Kingdom Hearts more than any other entity.

Hard to say. Apart from a 2K6 match with Crono, he's been stuck with enormous SFF every time. He gained all day in that Crono match, though. Finished at almost 26% after being at 22% four hours into it.

Thanks for the heads-up - I have Falcon > Riku in my bracket, and I'm hoping it pays off! I almost picked Riku, but I eventually chose Falcon, partially due to fanboyism.

On a side note, I know I'm late in saying this, but man - Charizard's bracket support is awful! I really wish I would have gone with my gut instinct and chose Charizard > Kratos... that could have really paid off.

Odd recent few posts.

So what're we expecting from Sub-Zero next round? Samus is looking good by the way she blew PoP away and scissored Jill, but Sub's been looking good too. For reference, he's gotten ~40.5% on Auron twice (37.2% once) and faced him post-KH2 in each format. Scorpion also got 34.31% on Samus-with-Midna in 2007.
