It really wouldn't be that puzzling! I guess if you're expecting a 60-40 result for Charizard, then maybe, but a character losing a match they were supposed to win 55-45 or less isn't the most shocking result in the world.

Just based on the round 1 performances, I'd be pretty surprised if Kratos won.

If Sonic team was looking in good shape it would be plausible(Hell, Dante got a good deal less than that against Tails in 2004 and Auron didn't do that much better in 2003) But...it's hard to say they have

After Ammy broke 40% on Luigi (and looking at how Tails did in the vote-ins anyway) it's very hard to say that Tails is as bad as we figured he would be. Would Duke even beat him?

Duke Nukem isn't that good in 1vs1. Ryu got 70% on him in 2003 and why would he boost at all since then. Ryu also got 56% on Kratos several years ago. Charizard got like 64% on Duke. The only thing that wouldn't line up if Kratos wins tomorrow is Tails but then again, Tails did get 43% on Dante in 2004

Tails might win, but probably not with the 54.19%+ necessary for Kratos > Charizard.

I think.

Aha! Here's something reliable! They both faced Alucard in 2002!

Based on that, Tails wins with...57.87%?!

If anything, that pic hurt him for the night vote (When Europe and Asia dominate). Those countries don't want to see some meathead with an American flag in the background

Duke and Tails are real wildcards considering their somewhat lacking contest history. I would have taken Tails to beat Duke pretty easily this year, but I have pretty shocking disrespect for Duke (which has constantly burned me) and my contest history is riddled with awful picks like Tails > Auron and Tails > Dante.

Not that Tails can't beat Duke while Char coasts pretty easily over Kratos, but yeah.

I'm really struggling to find a pick I've made that was worse than any of those.

I'd say my worst ever pick was probably after picking Mario > Samus and then Mario > Crono correctly to end the main bracket on the leaderboard with two accounts, I then went and picked Cloud > Link in the battle royal. On both of them.

I think TRE even said something about it in his "leaderboard update" post for that day. "Must suck to have done so well in the main bracket and then be undone by picking Cloud over Link"

You think based on that 4 way poll, Duke = Altair? Duke barely beat NIKO in that same poll (Or poll from the round before). So I guess Jill doubles Duke now? Jill beats Charizard now?

I actually finished 6th place the first time I ever entered an official bracket (2K4 Games). I was around in 2K2 and 2K3 for nearly every match, but I missed the bracket deadline both years.

Worst pick I ever made in terms of points lost was having L-Block losing round 1 in 2007.

Interesting to see Isaac perform so well. I guess Golden Sun DS has given the series a rebirth, though from what I can tell it doesn't look like Isaac will be in that game.
