This is an RPG biased website, and Tales games are probably the 2nd most popular jrpg series in America. Its not that hard to understand.

KH, FF, DQ, Pokemon. Hell, stuff like Star Ocean and even Disgaea can be argued to be popular. Every Tales game besides Symphonia has sold like garbage.

Ugh, forgot about Pokemon for some reason as a jrpg series. And I guess KH counts but I kinda lump that with FF. Disgaea and Star Ocean aren't as popular as Tales here, though. and Dragon Quests only rep in the last game contest would get owned by ToS.

Disgaea and Star Ocean aren't as popular as Tales here

While I'd take Symphonia over Disgaea in a match here, I'd definitely take Disgaea to defeat Abyss and Vesperia [or any of the others].

It does strike me as a little superfluous to have three Tales characters in one contest, but I'm not too bothered by it - it's still a 128-character bracket, after all.

On a side note, since Dragon Quest was mentioned: am I the only one who'd really like to see a Slime in the contest sometime? Seriously, it's almost kind of shocking that he's never made a contest appearance.

Everyone got murdered. Abysmal prediction percentages across the board. We lose all of the -4s and all but two -5s and all but six -6s and three of those were former -4s. Prediction percentage improves slightly as you go down the tiers. But it's not until the -34 brackets that prediction percentage cracks 20. If you managed to get this match right, you would shoot up in the rankings.

9 people fell off the Top 50 for not having Ryu Hayabusa win. KirbyDanteYoshi, nintendogirl1, DaemonDragon, fr0g804, Agent_M, AffeldtABoob, frodragon, Safer_777 and TeamRocketElite. ;_; This is the first time my main bracket has made the Top 50 since 2005. It didn't last long, but I look to make it back soon.

36 people got it wrong but survived. The top rated person to get it right was former 11th place and new 1st place RPGuy96.

I theorized for a while before that match that Arthas was a 4way wonder who didn't have the appeal to get 50% in a match. And I still think thats true. I don't think Kefka is still anything over fodder line.

Yeah, this is a bad performance by Sora no matter how you slice it. Everything Square-related has crumbled with the exception of Cloud Strife

So, now the question at hand- Is Laharl...

a) Now a legit midcarder?
b) Exposing the heck out of an overseeded dud right before their first big match?
c) Trolling us Liquid Snake-style by making us guess wrong the strength of the character at hand?

The funny thing is, before this tournament started, this entire division seemed built to be Sora's free pass to the quarters before getting a shot at Mario. The biggest threat was Bowser, and we'd just seen two years of King Koopa making a laughing stock of himself. Then, after Round 1, not only did Sora/Bowser start looking debatable, but there's arguably a BIGGER threat now in Charizard (assuming the 'zard doesn't turn out to be a big red dud himself- good luck with Kratos!) And then the kid goes and pulls off this turkey of a match. Lol Sora,

(Also, is it just me, or is watching Mario and Mega Man both impress like crazy making anyone else anticipate their division final matchup? Mega Man foddered the latest FF7 rep, Mario responded by beating the cigs outta Naked Snake, and then Mega volley'd right back by telling ZackFAQs to GTFO. It's like Mega Man is saying 'don't tell me the odds' and wanting to make it at least look like Mario's going to be getting a match come the end of his division.)

Mega Man/Mario being a close match would be awesome... sadly I think it's more likely Cid and Zack are just a good step below the FFVII second tier and not that MM has amped it up. Either way though, off the back of those results I'd fancy him to beat Sora down worse than 55/45 if they were matched up.

Also, woo Laharl/boo Sora. Midna doesn't look so good now though, I have to admit.
