Ride it forever. Everyone has to get lucky sometime. That said I'll have to take my bracket a little more seriously next contest. Actually look at past trends etc. before making it. I
got Charizard > Kratos and L-Block in my bracket but I'm still
worried about it. Altair, Ike, Gordon, and Zack all underwhelming make
that Duke Nukem performance look less awesome while Ammy doing well on
Luigi makes Tails not look too bad. Though I remember hearing Charizard is projected to beat Zack based on Nukem, so who knows. Glad to be one of the 31 gurus that called Hayabusa, though! --- No match for KrahenProphet's extreme Guru skills. |

Oh,
Arthas was supposed to have boosted? That explains why so many people
took that upset. Still, I don't really think Bowser has fallen at all.
A little surprised he didn't get a bigger boost from BIS and NSMBW, but

to a degree, I agree with Ulti. I don't think Charizard will win his

I
just realized something. If we take Knuckles base value from last year
as 23% on base Link, and then take his last 1v1 contest % which was
expected to be 32% (zomg) you end up with 27.5 on base Link. Assuming
this is true that puts Sonic at just under 43% against Link. (This is
assuming that Knuckles didn't get SFFed, which is likely just look at
Zero vs. MM.) So taking that into account Sonic is expected to get about 60% vs. Mega Man, and challenge Cloud. Now I know that that is a little bit beyond his reach -- but even using the base percentage Knux had last year Sonic is projected to 55 - 45 Mega Man, beat Mario and Samus and come up short against Snake. That's based on his performance this year and assuming a constant, non-SFFed Knuckles. I like the sound of that. Why?
It's not that unreasonable to believe there was no SFF considering that
Knuckles won a favorite Sonic character poll before, so it's likely
that he isn't going to get destroyed in the Sonic fanbase. Why would he
get SFFed if he was chosen as the favorite Sonic character? There's no
reason for Knuckles of all characters to decline, either, so I wouldn't

It's
not like two big name characters from the same series haven't had
non-sff matches before. Mario and Luigi is a completely different case
as Luigi has always just been the 2nd player pretty much -- and he
resembles Mario way too much. Knuckles is a character that stands out
from the rest of the Sonic cast, and is a fan favorite of the series
(most prefer him to Sonic, not me, but whatever). There's no reason to
believe that Sonic fans would vote Sonic over Knuckles just because he

is still reliable enough. You're going to get most of the hardcore
Sonic fans with similar opinions. Even if you say that poll is
unreliable, Sonic and Knuckles are likely at least as popular as one
another in their respective series, and while not as iconic as Sonic I

Chief losing is predictable on this board, especially against Ryu.
Honestly, most of Gamefaqs are elitists who get pissed off over the
Halo fanboys that are 11 years old, and would love to see the Chief
fail just out of what they think is "irony". Add ot the fact that Ryu
is considered an indie game overall (especially in comparison) but
those same elitists, it's not surprising that chief loses to Ryu.
Gamefaqs users, many of them anyway, are the type of people that would
love to make Chief in particular fail because Halo became such a big
game for what some appreciate but don't think is all that
revolutionary, and hate what Halo has dished out in regards to its
fans. So this outcome is not at all surprising, simply because halo
hype is dead and gamefaqs elitists are on a rampage during this
generation. |
