I know games =/= characters, but Halo's recent games showing does lead me to believe Chief dropped this year. His first round match certainly makes a case for it (by the way, Ike and Arthas bombing makes it look even worse).

Dude couldn't even get 35% on Shadow! What potential?

Revisional history. Wario's 35% against a Shadow who got 45% against Mario was considered decent back then. His first match against Fox was supposed to be a tossup.

Also, I see no reason to expect Sub-Zero/MC to shift towards Subby in any way since 2006. If anything, MC should be stronger due to more Xbox acceptance and MK being a dying franchise.

Chief has nowhere to go but down. ODST and the upcoming Halo: Reach don't star him, and Bungie is leaving as soon as Reach is out. Microsoft has to find a very capable developer for their golden franchise; and I doubt they can do it quickly and effectively enough to keep Chief from suffering a long spiral.

The main problem with Toadette is that she was picked after nominations were opened where several people picked their own and back then we couldn't delete our choices.

I have no problems with that. If you didn't mean to welch and simply forgot, nobody cares.

It's the people who are all, like, righteous about welching on the nom spot that I find strange.

Seeding got us Vincent vs Guybrush as a ****ing 8/9 match instead of the far-more sensical 2/15 match.

Guru nominations certainly weren't aiming for strength, which makes the Toadette whining even more ridiculous considering we've had Wario and Prinny as noms!

Which is probably for the better, since Mega Man, Squall and Mario would have beat the piss out of him, and potentially Sonic and Sora as well. Which is far more embarassing than losing to an untested and brilliant joke character.

I dunno. That just seems weird to me. I don't think I ever considered Wario beating Fox a possibility even back then, and I think I even remember thinking Wario was a total waste of a Guru nom back then, too.

It means in 2006, Midway was still making new MK games. Since 2006, I think Armageddon and MK vs. DC came out. Now, Midway is dead so I wouldn't expect any new games. So yes, its deader then it was in 2006.

...and hey wait. I just saw the stats page. Vivi had so little support that even my bracket made it to the leaderboard? I didn't think my bracket had all that much right - I had Ocelot, Shadow, Liquid, Revan, and Crono wrong. Wouldn't have thought that would be enough.

True. Losing to Missingno is better than losing to Sonic at this point. At least losing to Missingno gives you some excuses and still clouds Crono's true strength a bit barring a loss to Yoshi or getting doubled by Sephiroth or something equally ridiculous.

It's far, far, better to lose in round 4 than round 1. And I don't think Crono could have had a worse loss than the one he just got. This isn't about finding escape routes for Crono anyway. I want him to have hard matches, matches where he can really impress, where he can pull off upsets.

Mega Man might have been a good match, though i still think Crono loses that, especially after MM's perfomances this contest. Squall would have been good. Crono probably beats Sonic and Sora pretty comfortably, but i can see why you would have wanted to see it. Mario is way out of his league now, don't know why you'd want to see that thrashing.

Yeah...the loss Crono just had was undoubedty much harder to swallow than any of those other losses mentioned would've been.

Master Chief has always looked better then halo itself in polls and game contests.

Not necessarily...when Halo lost to Starcraft, Master Chief had just come off bombing against Felix. I believe Halo's done very well in the GotY polls too.

This is how i rank the different game series/companies so far.

Capcom(notably RE and MM series), Pokemon and old Square FF - Great performance from them

Nintendo(excluding pokemon) - Doing fine so far

Metal Gear Series and KH series - Slightly below average

CT, Sonic and FF7 - Not looking very good though Team Sonic can redeem themselves if Sonic did well against Ganon/Kirby and Kratos not bombing against Charizard.

Wow. I did not expect this much of a blowout. I figured Mega Man would win, sure, but I would've been less surprised to see Zack with a lead than to see Mega Man crushing Zack like this.

Fox was up against Noble Niners his first two years. His very first match was against Cloud, and it took all he had to avoid a tripling, and then after a solid doubling over Pikachu in round 1 the next year, he got his block knocked off by Link himself, which adds SFF on top of the already embarrassing performances most characters put up against Link. The guy was completely impossible to judge.

At this point in Cids match, He was up to about 34.95%, which is 2% away from what he ended at. Based on that, Zack will likely end up about 38.5%

Nice performance by Mega Man. Zack's only clean match last contest was 30% on Link in round 3. Maybe that's a bit overrated with Alucard getting 28% on Link this year.

At least we get to see Mega Man against a legit character this year in Mario. I don't know, my gut tells me he's still in the same ballpark as Crono and Sonic. He didn't have a good match to base him on in 08, so we'll see.

ok, no way was Yuna not SFF'd, Zack/Tidus must have been the same as Squall/Tidus, I refuse to believe megaman boosted that much just because everybody went MM10 AWESOME SHEEP MAN, yeah i'm not buying into it.
