Mario has one of the best board votes in the business.

And Kirby really isn't that strong- he was worth 37.5% on Sonic in 2006, and 40% on Mario in 2005 through a Bowser that overperformed on sprite Snake. If Kirby's a near-elite, he's at the bottom of the near-elites. Vincent or Squall would wreck him.

-shrug- I could easily tell that Portable Ops pic looks like Snake, but todays match pic I couldn't tell you looks like Snake if I didn't know it was Big Boss. I'd have to look hard to see Snakes facial features.

There is almost no way I'm believing if you swapped the two headshots, with everything else the same, that people would go 'HELL YEAH BIG BOSS' to the Portable Ops pic, and then go 'who is this bearded fellow with the eyepatch and the 'big boss' voting option why i just don't know time to vote mario' to his current pic. I mean, let's be real here.

A character that got almost doubled by Mario in 2007 is getting almost doubled by him in 2010. Clearly this is an underperformance.

But what about the new games? It's the power hour, Boss will probably increase during the night and do a bit better this year.

It's a pretty heavy hit but not as bad as I thought it would be. We lose half of the remaining -4s. The -5s and -6s manage to stay just under 70. The -7s and -8s manage to stay above 50. From there the prediction percentage continues to decline to the 20s and lower.


14 people fell off the Top 50 today. AffeldtABoob, Drakeryn, Garrison5001, lancealots_son, HotSkitty, Megaman_703, Biggoron5, TheKoolAidShoto, Fr0g802, articuno2001, blitz_0623, SlymDayspring, vgresearcher and ajohn243 did not have Vivi winning the match.

2 people got it wrong and survived. Former first place smasherx and Silent_Alarm also didn't have Vivi winning.

Indeed. Big Boss has a worse picture tonight, and he'll still outdo what he got in 2007. There's plenty of room for both Big Boss boosting and Mario falling since their 2007 match, especially considering that Big Boss is probably weaker this year than last year (something people were so quick to jump onto for Liquid, to a massive extent). We overhyped ourselves for this match.
