Nah,
there are bigger trolls than Liquid. Recent episodes of the Show have
talked about characters with such wild swings--Jill, Kefka...actually,
Liquid might not be a bad choice, if only because of the franchise he's
from. Is there anyone from MGS that has any sort of
consistency? Liquid, of course, can look awesome one year and like crap
the next--or even the next round, like when he finished in
fourth place right after a thrilling first-round outright win. One of
the "inconsistency issues" with Jill involved facing Ocelot two
years in a row, easily losing the first time and easily winning the
next. The Boss was able to reach the second round this year when both
Liquid and Ocelot could not. Big Boss, of course, is wildly dependent on the picture he gets, and in a way, so is Solid Snake,
who was pretty much guaranteed one really close match every year
despite his Noble Nine status, a phenomenon affectionately dubbed "the
Solid **** factor". About the only one that has shown anything remotely
resembling "consistency" is Raiden, who made it to the second round in
both 4-ways, as the second-place finisher both times, and only appeared
in a lone 1v1 to get blown out by Snake in the first round. Perhaps MGS
as a whole is the "troll of the contest". --- CB8 score: 62 Incorrect picks: Ocelot, Wesker, Fawful, Tidus (2 rounds), Phoenix (2 rounds), Simon, Kratos Aurion, Crono, Soap MacTavish |

Wow,
really? I mean I guess I can understand Altair being thought of as
going in with a good chance thanks to an 'impressive' performance
against Liquid, but what is it that would prompt you to take either of
them over Vivi before the contest starts? Putting too much stock into
Liquid's 2008 year I guess? --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |

KIRBY/VIVI: Pro-Kirby comparisons: Tidus - Vivi won their Square-battle with 51.07% (2007) while Kirby had 57.65% (2005). Donkey Kong - Vivi had ~56% against him both times (2004, 2010) while Kirby SFF'd him with 63.29% (2007). Leon Kennedy - Vivi-with-Tidus had 39.48% on Leon (2007) while Kirby got 60.26% (2008)...though this was arguably the start of Kirby's bandwagon. Even if it wasn't, he still stood out like crazy. Solid Snake - Vivi got 33.47% in R1 and 32.64% in R2 (2008) while Kirby got 42.43% (2008)...and, though this was definitely band-wagon Kirby, this was against bandwagon-Solid too. Sephiroth - Vivi was SFF'd to 29.75% (2004) while Kirby got 58.46% with Cloud in the poll (2008)...though this is clearly unfair. Vivi was SFF'd and Kirby had his bandwagon while Sephiroth was SFF'd. Pro-Vivi comparisons: Vote-ins (Rikku, Liquid) - Red sox pointed out that if Vivi beats Altair with 55% today, Vivi would be expected through our vote-ins to beat Kirby with 53.97%. Luigi (plus Bowser) - Red sox also suggested that if you combined Luigi and Bowser to face Liquid -- which adds up to 62.31% on him (2008) -- Vivi would still be statistically favored to outdo that duo assuming he finishes today with 55%. Kirby scored 47.69% against Luigi (2006)... Surprise Kirby-twist: Zero - ...but since we're talking about Luigi/Kirby (2006), Zero was Luigi's R1-opponent in that same four-pack. Comparing Kirby and Zero against Luigi gives Kirby the advantage with 51.47%. Compare this to Zero edging out Vivi with 50.35% (2008). Both sides have an argument. The day-match should favor Kirby and I still think he'll win, but it's not like this is a safe match for him. It'll probably be close. --- T E A M C H O C O L A T E http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7355/64590879.png |

That's
because his early vote sucks and/or his SNV is also good while Liquid's
is bad, not because of any day vote power. There's no ASV on the
weekend, and once the early vote wears off you're right in the middle
of the day vote already. --- Missingno's quest to avenge Crono - Round 2: Yoshi |

Can someone work out Ike vs. Zidane based on Prinny=Laharl? Zidane is expected to beat Laharl with 57.11% based on the 2008 stats. Of course, Ike is expected to double Laharl by those same stats, but whatever. Ike wins with 56.27% assuming Prinny = 2008 Laharl and 2010 Zidane = 2008 Zidane.
