A better bracket would be to have a 128 character bracket (1 Vs 1) for characters who have never made a contest before.

The biggest issue with that is most people couldn't be bothered to look through past contests to check if the character they want to nominate has never made it into a contest before. Though I'm sure Bacon could set something like a page listing all of the characters that can't be nominated.

Well, I agree that a 128-character bracket would be a bit unwieldy...but I could totally support an off-season tournament being a 32-character bracket of that sort, with the winner (or possibly both finalists, or maybe even the entire Final Four--but that's stretching it) guaranteed a spot in the next character battle.

At the very least, it would help get some of the more deserving characters from lesser-known games into the bracket. As a Nippon Ichi fan, I'm tired of watching Laharl getting his butt kicked year after year (glad to see him finally win one, btw) while so many more deserving NIS characters are left out of the bracket entirely. I can't be the only one here that thinks Etna would probably be stronger than Laharl, right? (Although she's still a Nippon Ichi character, so she still wouldn't be very good.)

Legal in much of the United States, also, namely...lemme just check Wikipedia...all six New England states, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Washington D.C., both Carolinas, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Kentucky, Ohio, West Virginia, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, Nevada, Washington, Alaska, and Hawaii, according to the map. Georgia is apparently planning to raise the age, but according to the article, Montana has apparently lowered it to 16 since the map in question was created. So, yeah, 16 is actually the most common age of consent in the USA. "18" has only been ingrained in our heads because that's the age of consent in California, which is where they make most of the TV shows and movies. Ain't knowledge fun?
