The
hype building match would be against a normal near-elite, not the force
that's about to rock this contest. And it would be in round 3, in the
sprite round, after 2 easy wins. Then Crono can fight Mario in round 4

get the feeling most of the CTDS boost happened in 2008, before the
game came out, on hype. Hype seems to be really really really big in

course. It's not like Link got some kind of huge boost from it- it was
probably around what Crono got from CTDS all in all, as long as you
don't count the Battle Royale which was right when TP was coming out.
TP was much bigger, but Link is much stronger so it takes a lot more to

So who do I vote for? Link, whom I vastly prefer, or Alucard just to make Magus look better? I suppose Magus doesn't matter all that much to me. If
you take the vote-in at face value, Rikku and thus Kirby look pretty
bad, since Frog beat Rikku comfortably. Liquid looked bad losing to
Frog in the vote-in of course, and- he confirmed it by getting 60-40'd

think the massive pic/character contrast in that Tails match
contributed to the result, but maybe Kratos just benefited from 4ways
and has a hard time blowing people out otherwise (kinda like Chief
barring that one Crash Bandicoot match). GoW3 or not, Charizard is

Had to erase that one, been warned twice in the last two months, aint taking no chances. Simon Belmont has that new Castlevania game hype! looked the freakin' same and Ezio has the stupidest name in the
contest. Ezio Auditore di Firenze gets the doubling if his name is

Yoshi's Island with Goldeneye. It's like how Mario suddenly does better
when you replace Zelda with Luigi. Mario can SFF Luigi harder than
Zelda, and Mario 64 can SFF Yoshi's Island harder than Goldeneye, so
you end up with Zelda LFFing Mario and Goldeneye LFFing Mario 64. And we've never seen any evidence of FFVII/CT anything, so don't even bring it up! FFVII got way more votes than Goldeneye, so the overlap didn't need to be nearly as strong for it to matter more. And of course CT and FFVII hurt each other, just not strongly- I've argued against CT/FFVII LFF as much as anyone, but it's definitely not zero. Yeah,
I thought the Nintendo voting block would abandon Goldeneye so Mario 64
could look respectable against FFVII, but there's just too much GE love
for that to happen. Also, I still think the only possible way you can get FFVII losing to a non-OoT opponent in the games contest is a match like this: Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy X Super Mario Bros. 3/World/64/Pokemon RBY Ocarina can not lose to a non-FFVII opponent, regardless of the scenario. --- Yoblazer: http://i38.tinypic.com/2s024p4.jpg Watch and you'll see... someday I'll be... part of your world! |

Goldeneye
got 1/3 of the votes FFVII got in that match. FFVII could have been a
much heavier weight than Goldeneye, and I think that was what most of
the people who took that upset were looking for- few people expected
