~*Say What? Some Common Stat Topic Lingo Defined*~

SFF (Same Fanbase Factor) - Same Fanbase Factor is the theory that, if two contestants share a common fanbase, the weaker of the two options will underperform in a direct matchup. For instance, Link was expected to defeat Ganon with 65% of the vote in 2004, based on their 2003 values. Instead, Link collected near 88% of the vote, because the Zelda fanbase so clearly sided with him. However, take some SFF labels with a grain of salt, as many people will slap it onto any match that doesn't make total sense. This has caused a few SFF jokes, with LordOfDabu's "Some Frivolous Factor" being the funniest of them.

X-Stats - Short form of Extrapolated Statistics, aka the mathematical "strength" of a contestant that can be determined based on their performance in any given matchup. See above for a detailed explanation of the x-stat process.

Noble Nine - Link, Cloud, Sephiroth, Mario, Crono, Solid Snake, Sonic, Samus and Mega Man.

Near-Elite - The Squall, Auron, Tifa, Vincent, Zelda, Kirby, etc group that has come at, near or even ahead of Noble Nine characters in the past.

The Fodder Line - A final X-Stat value of 15% or below.

A lot of people are saying that if Missingno gets past Yoshi, he'll build enough of a bandwagon to go on to win the contest. I still think Sephy's a bit out of Missingno's league 1-on-1 though.

A lot of people here think that Missingno has a very good shot at Sephiroth, due to the early vote.

I'm not one of them. I kind of think he just gets beaten easily. Sephiroth is no Crono.

The general feeling is that Sephiroth is the ideal opponent for Missingno to face next, in the sprite round with a night match. The early vote will be glorious and it will be hard for Seph to recover, especially when Missingno has already shown the ability to rally or stuff thousands of votes.

Sephiroth may be down hundreds of votes at the freeze... and in dead hours, rallying/stuffing is a lot more effective which benefits joke characters.

For me, Sephiroth's the easy favorite, though obviously I'm not counting out Missingno here. I don't think bandwagoning will be as big this contest, and Missingno's going to need a lot more strength to threaten the #3 character on the site. But if Missingno can get that huge board vote and turn it into a sizable lead, he may just have a chance.

Yeah, I don't mean to say that Missingno should be the favorite or anything. But if he wants to win the contest outright, there's no one better for him to face in that match than Sephiroth. A victory will automatically build his bandwagon up to where he can contend with Link and Cloud.

Yoshi has an outside chance, but Yoshi would have to be a step above Crono at this point. At least Yoshi's performance against Jak shows that's possible.

I'm still not confident Yoshi > Crono would happen, so why would Yoshi > Missingno?

Hyrule Division or Midgar Division in 2004 were pretty bad. Zelda's division in 2006 was pretty blah, and so was Yuna's. That's about it though.

There is ZERO chance Missingno loses to Yoshi, that's insanity.

And yes, Sephiroth is definitely the best opponent for him to face next, since he could potentially build up a 2K lead with the first two hours alone, ala Snake vs. Cloud. That'd be nearly impossible to overcome in 12 hour match.

If Missingno gets a massive bandwagon like L-block did, he wins. He'll need every bit of it though, Seph at least 60-40's Crono these days not counting SFF, maybe even 65-35.

If there's a lot of voters like myself who voted Missingno mostly because of disdain for mutes like Crono but will vote for Sephiroth, Missingno is pretty much doomed.

I used the Missingno trick several times when i played Red and i don't think i ever saw the skeleton form. That pic could be bad for him.

I personally don't put much stock in pics though, maybe 1-2%

Looks like red sox was right - Tifa could hit 80% after all. She's rising much more rapidly than I expected. I had thought FF7 females had better board votes than the males, but that seems not to have been the case tonight.

That's what I get for questioning the undisputed champion of trends. When will I learn?

I think MissingNo would be in trouble if he got a fossil picture. The ghost picture could do okay, but I think the glitch is by far the best picture he can get.

The pic somebody posted before of MissingNo just filling the entire pic was perfect. He'd slaughter Yoshi with that.

Apparently Missingno has a form where its the Aerodictle or Kabuto fossil. Very few people know that though. I didn't until yesterday.

I never saw a fossil or ghost form.

Other than the glitch the only form i saw was a rhino-looking form... i forget the name of the pokemon it looked like.

I played the hell out of Pokemon ten years ago. The glitch-looking Missingno is ingrained in my mind, but I'd never recognize those other forms. I really hope the anti-joke Board 8ers make waves of those pics for him, but I'm sure Bacon is too smart for that and will give him glitch pics throughout the contest.

I will submit all forms of Missingno on the off chance Bacon will select one of them. He won't because he's a notorious Missingno fanboy but having one of those pis will ensure that the monster is stopped before it gets out of control.
