Okay I thought that I read wrong but I have actually read it right.Only 51%?Seriously?I mean seriously? Why so low?I thought this was way too easy!I mean a guy that is named Soap to win?

His opponent's name is Big Daddy *insert prison reference here*

In the case that someone doesn't know either character they usually go for the higher seed, remember this was a 3/14 seed match, not many casuals would go for a seeding upset that great.

Soap/Big Daddy joins Sephiroth/Alucard 2003 as "That match everyone forgot because we were still discussing the match from the day before all the way through" in history. Soap actually does better during the dead hours (though he still can't get a 40% hour), and Big Daddy rocks him with the morning vote. Pretty good.

The first hour of Missingno/Sephiroth would be scary and ridiculous. Crono would probably lead against Sephiroth at the freeze, probably half an hour even in a night match, before going on to get 60-40'd. Missingno could be up by hundreds within 5 minutes, over 2000 within the first hour. By the time Sephiroth is able to stall Missingno, the lead may be over 3000. When does Sephiroth catch up? The dead zone? Sure he'll slaughter Missingno then, but there aren't that many votes coming in at that time. If it's close at the end you just know Missingno will pull the same thing he did with Crono yesterday, probably more since Sephiroth is a stronger and more exciting adversary.

You are massively MASSIVELY over-estimating how strong his board vote will be. It's not as though Sephiroth gets NO votes during the board vote.

Missingno won't lead Sephiroth past the freeze.

You think Missingno can 60-40 himself two rounds from now? This isn't 4-ways, people. Sephiroth has no other FFVII character to siphon his votes away. I know you want him to lose but it's just not happening.

It doesn't matter what lead Missingno has, he will just be eradicated overnight...if he makes it to Sephiroth. He could be up 750 votes and Seph would still mutilate him.

He won't get a bandwagon, it's too early on in the contest. One of the reasons why a bandwagon only develops later on is because the matches tend to be closer together and it's far easier for the casual voters to note the bandwagonee's progress. Missingno's matches are too far apart to gain any meaningful sort of momentum.

Yes, easily.

The only way Missingno is not beating Sephiroth is if Yoshi can stop him in round 2. Hope to God that many people on this site realize that Yoshi is our joke (LUEshi) and represent him against everyone else. If not, Missingno will go the same way as L Block, Kirby, and Solid Snake, and be bandwagoned to win the contest pretty easily.

Crono was over 60% on Vincent at the freeze in 2007 and lost handily, and Sephiroth's board vote is much worse.

You're right that Missingno needs not only to win the first hour but to hammer him hard then, but the 12-hour format is probably going to be as effective as 4-ways in helping these joke characters. Seph has a lot less time to make his comeback, and he needs to win by a couple thousand at least so as not to get beaten by Missingno's rally/stuffing power.

http://board8.wikia.com/wiki/Snake_vs_L-Block_vs_Kratos_vs_Riku_2007 - Round 3

Fairly consistent votals for the Block, only a very slight gain over two rounds. If Missingno. follows this pattern, it will take much more than that.

Hmm?

Missingno's 46,000 from yesterday would be more than enough to beat Sephiroth in a night match. He already got like 6000 more votes than Sephiroth despite Sephiroth getting 71% on his opponent, albeit in a night match.

Fairly consistent votals for the Block, only a very slight gain over two rounds. If Missingno. follows this pattern, it will take much more than that.

There's a difference between then and now. Back then, no one cared about joke characters. L Block was the luckiest character ever in any contest because he was given two rounds on a silver platter. Because of that, people thought it would be funny to see how much further it can go, and thus the bandwagon started. You could say that after round 2 is when the "Joke Character" as we know it now was born. It was the Block's breakthrough.

Nowadays, everyone is looking for the next L Block. MissingNo already had his breakthrough against Crono. You can easily see the bandwagon in his first round based on the vote totals being so high. Pretty much, he's already been labeled as the "Joke Character" this contest, and he already has the fanbase on his back.

Yoshi has to do his best to imitate Pikachu from 2008 in order to end this before it grows. If MissingNo does get by Yoshi, there's no stopping him.

You missed the point, way to go.

People are calling for a bandwagon between now and Seph v. MN, but in the same time frame, L-Block had stayed pretty much within range of his round 1 self the whole time.

And as far as looking for the next L-Block goes, consider that while jokes have some "fans" these days, they've also gained more than a few haters.

Yes, that's where Yoshi comes in. Yoshi is loved in the Mario universe and has no haters, so he's the best shot at taking him out. Sephiroth... He's probably the most hated in the contest next to Master Chief.

People who think there's a concrete favorite for Missingno/Seph is nuts. Seph has a good chance because he's way above Crono, Missingno has a good chance because of rallies, bandwagoning, and going up against one of the more-hated characters in the bracket.

For the record, I think Sephiroth is going to win, but Missingno could easily pull off a win.

So Yoshi > Sephiroth 1v1, right? Because that's what you're saying.

No, I'm not. Just like I'm not saying Pikachu > Link because Pikachu beat L-Block and Link couldn't.

What I am saying is that Joke Characters do not care about character strength. More and more rallies would happen in order for joke characters (the major ones) to beat whoever they face. Sephiroth is much, much easier to rally against because he's hated most places. Yoshi is loved just about everywhere, so it's much harder to rally against him.

Pretty much, Yoshi has a shot at eliminating most of MissingNo's strength. Sephiroth doesn't. That's why Yoshi is our best shot here.

Sephiroth/Missingno is the "big match" for the glitch. It's held off Crono with a massive rally in a very close match, but Sephiroth is a tier above that. Doesn't help it that it's a night match either. I'm quite excited to see what happens.

And I don't buy the "everyone loves Yoshi so it will sap the rally" argument.
