I guess you miss the topic where the admin of the site confirmed there was no vote-stuffing then. Like when the creator of the site said he wasn't going to merge the site? There's
really nothing wrong with getting attached to how your favorite
characters do. Maybe it means nothing to you, but people just feel
differently about things. It's just a matter of preference. --- "Stay with me until the end. Please." "Not until the end. Always." |

And
the people saying, "Dude, my favorite characters lose all the time!"
have favorite characters who don't have high expectations of doing well
in these contests. With Crono, it's a bit different. It doesn't bother
me when Balthier loses, for instance, because I already know he's
fodder, but Squall losing is a different matter. I can get that. I know I felt a little deflated when WCC beat Mega Man despite liking the box and understanding LFF. I'm ultimately here for the celebration and comparisons of video games and their characters though, so it only affects me so much. Anyway, BD's winning easily. Does anybody feel better with Gordon now, or is Bioshock 2 behind this...or both? --- T E A M C H O C O L A T E http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7355/64590879.png |

Oh, right, I forgot how honest them administrators are. The mere fact you're comparing one of the most major decisions made in the history of this site to some pointless contest is hilarious. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

From: Gooper Blooper | #294 But most people want to see him suck now! He's become such a pathetic joke that people want to see him suffer. It's better when you get attached to characters who exceed expectations. Watching Cecil, Vault Boy, and Shepard giving some great performances was awesome for me, and it makes me more excited to see what Shepard does to Pikachu and what Cecil (and hopefully Rydia) and Vault Boy may do next year. --- Not Wylvane |

got the internet to rally around him (it was going on since the first

Why would I? Zelda is expected to win. But it's not a match people care about enough to stuff in. It's always been the matches involving the 'best' characters. This is no exception. Bacon probably allows the stuffing because without the stuffing the match isn't even close -- Crono wins easily -- the site gains more exposure because with the stuffing the match is close and therefore people are willing to rally (as no one will actually rally in a match that they have no chance of affecting the outcome). --- Curt - PSN - CPhoenixM I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soul. |

To
be honest, I don't even play video games anymore (got 1 new game in the
past 3 years), so all I really care about on this site is the contests,
really. But yeah, let's go Team Pokemon. Red > MMX, Charizard > Mario, Pikachu > Snake, Missingno > Link let's do this. --- 6 years later, Crono's quest to defeat Sephiroth -- Round 1: Missingno 'Till shade is gone, 'till water is gone, into the shadow with teeth bared.... |

I take the opposite side here, I want Crono avenged. I know it'll make Crono look bad in the X-Stats, but I want to see Missingno annihilated. If Yoshi can somehow Nintendo SFF it into the ground, I'd love it. If Sephiroth can stop it, I wouldn't really be satisfied, but I'd like it. If Sephiroth can't, I'd run all the way back to Link and set up a fort waiting for Missingno to arrive and hope Link could pull a miracle. In any of those cases, I'm still going to view this as the worst result in contest history, but... Though I can definitely understand the view of wanting Missingno to tear up the contest now, it's just not for me. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? You
know, I could almost buy Pikachu being the stronger indirectly than
Charizard. Missingno indirectly being the strongest of the trio, but
Charizard and Pikachu both being able to win directly against
Missingno, and Charizard > Pikachu. ...That's crazy and has to be horribly wrong, that's way too convoluted to be plausible. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? SC2k10 (52/59) Crono v Missingno |

From: Not_Wylvane | #338 I'm more intrigued about Missingno being the strongest joke character. Doing a Round 1 comparison to 2007 L-Block I don't see how this could be in doubt. 41% or so on Kirby v Beating Crono? Even if Crono did fall, that's a really long way to make Round 1 2007 L-Block stronger. Now, can Missingno be as effective at building strength as 2007 L-Block? That remains to be seen obviously. --- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? SC2k10 (52/59) Crono v Missingno |

From: xp1337 | #339 Hell, you can just look at 2008 where we had Crono vs L-Block directly, where L-Block had an established fanbase. L-Block couldn't even beat Pikachu, let alone Crono. And Missingno has shown he's stronger than both Pikachu and L-Block just based on that. --- Not Wylvane |

That's if you think Crono has stayed still from 08. Now, can Missingno be as effective at building strength as 2007 L-Block? That remains to be seen obviously. I doubt this. I think people who don't even play video games can be persuaded to vote for L Block. I do think that Missingno, whether or not he does make it into the late rounds, has more staying power than L Block.
