Was an honest mistake based on looking over the bracket too many times and making impulse changes. I don't think the 3 points will mean much.

Conversely I'm still at a respectable 51 points overall, and I sure as hell don't see your name on the leaderboard.

The contest has always been a sham -- right from when Samus beat Sonic in 02. The poll has always been influenced by stuffing in 'big' or close matches. I prefer to look at matches like Ezio/Zelda or Ken/Ganondorf...smaller matches that have less of a chance of being tainted by cheating.

Also I don't see where crying is involved in this so Ulti's 'insult' kind of falls short. I don't care either way which character advances as I'm impartial to them both. However, I am just pointing out that it's very hard to get excited about a close match when there is so much blatant cheating involved. If you don't see the cheating, or simply believe there isn't any because nothing happens after, you are willfully ignorant (and I can't blame you for that). But make no mistake, this contest is far from legitimate.

I don't think it will be like 2007. Crono has been constantly getting weaker, so it might just that. L-Block just seems like more of a universal joke to me because it's a Tetris piece. It took awhile for L-Block to get going to in 07 anyway. Too bad though, I wanted to see how much the bottom of the noble nine had fallen and compare Yoshi to Crono.

This is probably obvious but the top tiers got decimated on this match. All the -2s, all the -3s and all of the -4s got the match wrong. The prediction percentage goes up as you go down the tiers but it's not until the -9s that it break 10%. No matter how far down you go, the prediction percentage never gets much higher than 30%. We lost quite a few 0 brackets on this match. I guess they were brackets with Missingno. winning and nothing else.

Only 5 people fell off the Top 50 today. chocoboslayer, bogalx, DankaBlack, Jinjo802 and Interceptor18 did not have Missingno. beating Crono.

45 people got the match wrong but survived. I still don't buy Crono being significantly weaker. He defeated Vincent in a rematch in 2008, and though CT couldn't beat SM64, it still held close to it in its matches. I think Crono's still close to the strength he's been at, i.e. the Vincent/Squall tier. Which is where Missingno is at.

L-Block couldn't even come close to Kirby its first round. Hell, it didn't even come close in 2008, and it certainly wouldn't have pulled this off today. Crono would've likely broke 60% on L-Block.

Missingno is a ****ing force.

I think you should stick by your word and leave Red. Even though you have been one of the people that has actually been open minded to discussion, and seem like a pretty good guy. I don't think you should leave because I dislike you -- I think you should leave because of the legitimacy of the contest. I mean, it's not worth getting worked up over so you should stay because of that -- but at the same time why entertain a contest that is so clearly fixed/staged/whatever.

It's an Internet popularity contest. If you're threatening to leave the site over this, you need to tone down how much stock you put into the whims of the faceless masses.

Yeah, there's a prize, but nobody here has won one of these things since Ulti in 2004, right? There's too much guesswork involved. We have characters that rely entirely on getting good match pictures (Big Boss, anyone?) New games could suddenly be announced/hyped mid-contest (Sonic 4 and Mega Man 10, though I doubt they'll do much). There are too many factors to get right without essentially gambling. The only contest I can think of that could be reasonably well-predicted without resorting to guesswork was the Villains contest, and that thing had only 3 strong characters, one of which was guaranteed the win before it even started, and only 32 total.
