Well as for tomorrow's match, we won't know for sure whether has Crono dropped in strength seeing as how Missingno is essentially an unknown.

If Crono does indeed drop in strength (look at Magus), he might be in trouble. If he remains constant (look at frog), forget what i just said.

Yeah it's tough to ignore a 58% loss to Squall. I think 06 was a different year in which Nintendo was boosted highly. He's probably below where he was then.

@nintendogirl1: If the '07 stats are worthless, then Freeman is even more doomed than before! Of course, we just saw Marth get steamrolled, and Peach doesn't have the cool factor that Ridley/Marth have, so...I dunno.

Then again, '06 stats are probably even more worthless. Peach basically a new character aw yeah.

It depends on The strength's of those three characters. After seeing Lucario, I can't see Squirtly be that much better, and Liquid's strength is just all over the place. One minute, he looks like a good midcarder, the next, he's a pathetic fodderline character.

I think Squirtle would be a lot stronger than Lucario. Wouldn't be surprised if he was about the same as Mewtwo.

Analysis

I’ve seen a lot of fear in this board about this match and I can sort of see why, Missingno would likely have been the best heir to L-Block’s reign. The problem is that a bandwagon is needed before the upset of the entire contest could occur. Missingno could have wrecked havoc had he been given a weaker opponent, but as I can see the best the glitch could hope for is a decent performance.

The main reason why Missingno is being hyped was its performance in the vote-in poll. It absolutely thrashed the competition despite there being two other Pokemon entries in the poll. The best explanation would be that if a joke character can perform well in four-ways, just think how well it would perform in a 12-way match. While L-Block has shown that joke characters can have strength in one on one his performance was nowhere close to the performances he was producing in four-ways.

A debate between which is the strongest joke character has been interesting. L-Block may be technically more known, but considering the Missingno trick is one of the most well known glitches in gaming history I don’t see L-Block winning by much in that regard. Personally I would say L-Block is stronger because it has been in previous contests and caused an upset by winning the entire thing.

Crono may have lost his step in recent years, but the guy is still one of the strongest characters of the bracket. There may have not been a Chrono Trigger DS boost, but for Missingno to win this match the glitch would not only have to be the strongest Pokemon character, but it also needs to be a top 10 character, without the help of a bandwagon. Some people like to bring up this being a day vote, but considering that night/day shifts are only a couple of percent Missingno would have needed to be close to Crono in the first place in order to upset him.

Assuming Crono wins this hyped match, this will be the 125th victory for the Noble Nine over a non-Noble Niner one-on-one. If Crono fails, well...we'll just call it a glitch and move on.
