Bowser
didn't even sextuple him in that match. He couldn't even reach the
quintupling either. A quintupling requires a minimum of at least 83.33%. Ah well. At least I can safely say that Bowser quadrupled him. --- "Here I go! Divine judgment for an evil soul! Sacred Penance! Rest in peace." - Estellise Sidos Heurassein, Tales of Vesperia |

From: vcharon | #398 Apparently you don't understand that some people like these contests for different reasons than us. Believe it or not, there are people who are more interested in seeing their favorites make the contest than seeing exciting matches! Just like how there are more people who find voting a Tetris block to win the contest funnier than protecting the "integrity" of the contest. You're free to disagree, but it's a bit ridiculous that you act so incredulous that other people may have different opinions than you. --- Not Wylvane |
XIII_rocks | Posted 2/13/2010 9:34:05 AM | message detail |
From: vcharon | #398 It is not our place to decide what is good or bad foer the contest. Where's the ****ing romance? Guybrush might be weak but the fact that he repeatedly appears in these is great mostly because he for the most part represents the adventure genre and is a very fun character. --- "Go and read some more Wikipedia I'm sure they have a good article on spases." - Lil69Leo |
LeonhartFour | Posted 2/13/2010 9:34:58 AM | message detail |
From: Cyclo_Reaper | #400 Man, if you can get in the playoffs over the course of a season, you've earned it, unless the games were rigged. Plus, sports are a bit different than this. Big upsets happen in sports. In March Madness, you can see the Guybrush Threepwoods of college basketball beat the Vincent Valentines in one big game. Here, that ain't happening. --- "So cold. I am always by your side." "There ain't no gettin' off of this train we on!" |

vcharon | Posted 2/13/2010 9:36:57 AM | message detail |
From: Cyclo_Reaper | #411 Yeah, let's see Guybrush have a winning record over 16 matches no matter who he faces. He wouldn't. The Jets also won against good teams. Guybrush wouldn't win against anyone that's good, ever. It doesn't matter if Vincent had only a picture of his gun, on Chaos form or no picture at all. He'd still win and win big. --- :> |
nintendogirl1 | Posted 2/13/2010 9:37:19 AM | message detail |
From: vcharon | #402 Bad example. Teams change, are you even being serious? Guybrush sucks and he always will. There is no changing. So what. I still root for him to be given a winnable shot. It's not likely, but he's awesome and I love him, so why shouldn't I want it to happen? How is it any better than wanting Cloud to win? Because Guybrush is weak I shouldn't want him to be strong? --- Jeez. |

Lara Croft). I doubt he was much stronger in 2002 than he was in 2003. Ryo Hazuki (2003c) VS Ryo Hazuki (2002c) Ryo Hazuki has a strength of 12.62. Ryo Hazuki has a strength of 17.71. Ryo Hazuki wins with 64.37% of the vote! And
I'd be more apt to blame crappy bracket making for boring contests than
an influx of fodder, which we'd be forced to have in a 128-character
bracket regardless. --- Not Wylvane |
Cyclo_Reaper | Posted 2/13/2010 9:38:09 AM | message detail |
And
all this whining makes me want to nominate Guybrush even more, since
you all take the stats too seriously. This is supposed to be fun, and
have our favorite characters going at it in a popularity contest. Its
not serious business. --- http://cache-07.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/9/2010/02/500x_lp2_x10_005.jpg I Am Albion Hero! |
XIII_rocks | Posted 2/13/2010 9:38:55 AM | message detail |
*different, obviously From: vcharon | #410 There are plenty of opportunities for "exciting" matches, while blowouts like these will always happen. If it's not Guybrush it'll be someone else, and I can guarantee that character won't be anything like as fun. You're one to talk about talking down, as well. From: LOLContests | #409 Sure. But I think such a genre requires more than one representative in a 128 character field, personally. XIII_rocks | Posted 2/13/2010 9:40:55 AM | message detail |
I
wouldn't mind seeing Guybrush in a 64 battle for the record, though I
wouldn't be gutted if he was snubbed because of how weak he is - I can
accept there would be better characters taking his place. --- "Go and read some more Wikipedia I'm sure they have a good article on spases." - Lil69Leo |

at them. I don't find them fun, but if they get the nominations they get a slot. --- Stop whining. |

For
the record, Guybrush's appearances were an influence in me playing
Secret of Monkey Island, which I enjoyed a lot, enough that I later
bought the remake on my 360. If Guybrush's constant appearances can pique enough interest that a few people try out his games and discover a genre of old games they may like, more power to the people who keep nominating him. --- Not Wylvane |
