I was debating on whether or not to joke vote for Vincent in round 2, but I decided not too. The only character I'm joke voting for is Gordon Freeman if he makes it there. Maybe somebody else, but I dunno.

It's funny to think that Commander Shepard had a larger first round percentage than Cloud, Snake, and Sephiroth. Man Ellis is weak...he's probably our new Tanner! How about:

If you care about the contests you won't keep nominating trash. I don't keep nominating Carmen Sandiego.

And not everyone only cares about having the strongest. Some people care about having characters they like. Its why I nominate Guybrush, Arthas and will nominate Yuri every year from now on. I don't care if they're fodder, I like seeing characters I love in the contest.

Doesn't bother me. I get to watch one of my favorite characters treat Guybrush like a doormat for 12 hours, and one AGAIN prove the latter has no business in any contest field.

This match may be boring as hell, but watching Vince make mincemeat out of Guybrush more than makes up for it. Guybrush has no business in these contests. He's like Tanner, but a Tanner who's made multiple contests...

Guybrush is as much a staple as CATS at this point. At least Guybrush actually had a good reason to be in this contest thanks to recent releases, even if they did jack **** for him.

I wouldn't give a **** if he missed it, but it's nice to at least have one representative from the adventure genre. I'd rather see him over CATS any day.

Let's not act like Guybrush was ever a staple to our contests like CATS. Guybrush was as much of a staple as Ryo Hazuki, and we were pretty collectively happy when he left...and Ryo tripled Guybrush.

I'm not going to tell people to stop nominating him, but Guybrush is a wasted slot as far as general contest-excitement goes.

Yeah, Vincent's our best chance at wrecking the N9, and he's wasted in Round 2 again. We could've had an epic Vincent/Crono rematch, or see if Vincent could give Mega Man a good scare, or even see how badly Vincent beats Sonic. Instead, Vincent gets to triple Guybrush and get SFFed by Sephiroth.

At least it'll be interesting to see how Vincent resists SFF in a 1v1 setting. He got blown out in 2007 by Sephy, but then Cloud blows out Sephy in four-ways too. If Sephiroth can pull a strong performance against Cloud, I can't see why Vincent can't pull a solid performance of his own in a 1v1 setting.

I'd still rather see Vincent/Crono, though.

There's a sense of "what's good for the contest", and that is new and exciting characters. Or characters that look good coming back again. While fodder will always exist, it's better if it's unproven fodder. Ellis was fun, because no one realized just how epic of fodder he really was. Should he ever be back? Of course not. Guybrush is no different. It hardly matters about how good he is or anything like that. What's good for the contest doesn't boil down to fanboys sticking in their terrible fodder to put everyone to sleep.
