Sephiroth
with a slightly higher percentage at the end of the first hour than
Cloud had. Seems like Cloud is more anti-voted than Sephiroth. Sephiroth should still go on to get a final percentage similar to what Cloud got. The morning vote will slow down Sephiroth quite a bit as Marth gets his ASV in the morning. Well, today marks the three hundredth
victory for a Noble Niner over a non-Noble Niner if you count
four-ways...making their percentage of victory 96.46% (eleven losses,
L-Block being responsible for six of them and LFF being responsible for
two of them). If/when Crono beats Missingno, that'll be the one hundred twenty-fifth victory in a row for Noble Niners over non-Noble Niners in a one-on-one setting, a record that still holds no losses. Gotta say, whoever first picked the Noble Nine did a fine job. It's hard to ask for a better crew, especially for characters that originally appeared in 2002. --- T E A M C H O C O L A T E http://img269.imageshack.us/img269/7355/64590879.png |

Marth is strong for a 16th seed. Agreed. Man, it stinks that Marth got wasted this year, being fed to Sephiroth... Especially considering GUYBRUSH, of all people, gets away with a 9 seed. That aside, I'd say that Marth's arguably the strongest 16 seed in the contest. --- "Here I go! Divine judgment for an evil soul! Sacred Penance! Guybrush
outseeding a (two?) character(s?) on Crono's level is incredibly funny.
You really have to wonder how he got so much support. Anyways, if Marth breaks 30% than Freeman is even more dead than before, but good thing is that that's not the case. But why does Final Fantasy VII get anti-voted so much more than any other game? Personally I can find big flaws with not only FF7, but also Ocarina of Time and Mario 64, and those are my two favorite games. I don't understand the reasons for anti-voting right now...maybe people are sick of its performance on Best Game Ever lists? But then Ocarina would also get anti-voted, right? |

this is why you cannot take elite v fodder matches seriously. Seph's

Ridley
probably is just more credible than people gave him credit for. If you
throw out x-stats and any previous results, one would assume Ridley should
be pretty decent, being a major character in a major franchise and all.
Maybe he just is finally reaching the potential everyone once saw in
him (having a decent picture finally probably helped too). --- :> |

Despite
the rate he is going up, Sephy is not going to end up too far from
Cloud's final percentage. This is a weekend match, and people tend to
wake up later during weekends. Expect a few Marth percentage cuts when
they do. |
vcharon | Posted 2/13/2010 4:48:34 AM | message detail |
Likely,
but Sephiroth only needs another hour or so to hit 72%. Regardless I'd
say this is quite an impressive performance all things considered. --- :> |
MetricTrout | Posted 2/13/2010 4:55:56 AM | message detail |
Well,
it is only "impressive" considering Cloud's recent underperformance. It
would still be disappointing had this match happened a month earlier. I am looking forward to the Vincent/Guybrush match. It should shine light on how much of this is anti-votes and how much of this is the relative strength of Marth/Ridley. |

It
definitely deflates any Snake > Sephiroth wagon though. Marth is
clearly stronger than Proto-Man, probably by a good amount. If
Sephiroth had done the 66-68% a lot of people were predicting then it
would have been clear that Snake may indeed win. Now I'm pretty
confident all is right with the world and Sephy > Snake as expected. --- :> |
