I'd think Revan's best time would be the ASV probably which he won't have. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

Auron couldn't SFF Rydia As far as we know! Or maybe it was just the green hair! But Zelda quadrupled Terra back in 2006! Squall should be able to beat that! --- "The great GF...Bahamut." "...GF? I...? Using my powers...It is you humans...I fear..." |

Terra's probably going to get mauled by Squall. We won't know where they place accurately >_> --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |

Big update for Terra, a 72 vote gain. --- 6 years later, Crono's quest to defeat Sephiroth -- Round 1: Missingno 'Till shade is gone, 'till water is gone, into the shadow with teeth bared.... |
Cyclo_Reaper | Posted 2/11/2010 9:37:13 PM | message detail |
Doesn't
new Square not SFF old Square that much? I mean obviously there will be
some overlap, but I wouldn't expect a complete 80-20 or anything. --- http://i48.tinypic.com/2wmghtl.jpg I Am Albion Hero! |
RPGuy96 | Posted 2/11/2010 9:37:26 PM | message detail |
Hah! Zelda quadrupled blonde Terra! I will do my best to get green hair in again! --- Smilin' Squall vs green hair Terra let's do this |
paraboxx | Posted 2/11/2010 9:38:20 PM | message detail |
Okay,
that's good enough that I'm out for now. Here's hoping I come back/wake
up to Terra still leading comfortably. Go bracket! I mean, Go Terra! |
Karma Hunter | Posted 2/11/2010 9:38:23 PM | message detail |
I'd
be stunned if Squall didn't grind Terra down into paste. Auron/Rydia
was between characters six games removed from one another rather than
two, in a four-way match, with Rydia looking absolutely outstanding in
the picture. If Revan is worth much of anything (doubtful, looking at
this) we'll never know. --- turnturnturn your brain in http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs14/f/2007/020/b/f/Ariel_by_lolita_art.jpg |
Not_Wylvane | Posted 2/11/2010 9:38:23 PM | message detail |
And
Revan had good reason to be the favorite, partly because KotOR was a
decently popular game here (managed to make the first Games Contest)
with HK-47 giving decent performances. But more importantly, because
Terra sucked in previous contests. Of course, then Dissidia boost comes and Cecil almost conquers Knuckles while Kefka beats the **** out of Arthas. Now Terra's actually somewhat respectable. Go figure that after sucking since 2003 and after the egg FF6 laid last year that Terra and Kefka would be exceeding expectations? --- Not Wylvane |
red sox 777 | Posted 2/11/2010 9:38:29 PM | message detail |
How do these FFVI characters have such different pictures anyway? --- 6 years later, Crono's quest to defeat Sephiroth -- Round 1: Missingno 'Till shade is gone, 'till water is gone, into the shadow with teeth bared.... |
LeonhartFour | Posted 2/11/2010 9:38:31 PM | message detail |
From: Cyclo_Reaper | #205 Looks like Zack LFF'd Cecil last year, if Knux/Cecil is any indication. We haven't seen a lot of Old FF vs. New FF though (I don't think New Square will SFF Chrono Trigger, personally, and we haven't seen any indication of it, for whatever the reason). We saw Cloud/Kefka in 2007, and Kefka did a little worse on Marcus than the round before, but nothing severe. I can't remember if we've seen any others besides those two. --- "But you have been given freedom. Freedom to be...outside." "I am lightning...the rain transformed." |
Hochimihnister | Posted 2/11/2010 9:38:31 PM | message detail |
It's unlikely there will be much SFF between Squall and Terra. New Square and Old Square are actually different factions. Auron failed to SFF Rydia and Cloud failed to SFF Kefka. Squall won't SFF Terra much (if at all). |

Cyclo_Reaper Posted 2/12/2010 12:35:11 AM message detail As long as Revan can keep it under 1k by the morning I think he has a shot. US is his best time and old school square dies with the morning vote. LOL --- http://fc03.deviantart.com/fs14/f/2007/020/b/f/Ariel_by_lolita_art.jpg |

Lead is 410 now, if it continues at this rate to the end of the old school power hour Terra's lead will be approximately 800. I'd be tempted to call it for Terra if I wasn't on the leaderboard with Terra winning. --- Guru contest: 49/53 (T3) Misses: Boss, Altair, Kefka. Next upset: Terra > Revan |

Even
if Squall can't SFF Terra, if Terra is benefiting from some sort of
Dissidia boost, it'll probably be taken away by Squall, at least. --- A refusal of praise is a desire to be praised twice. |

I have a feeling this is gonna be one of those matches where the casuals slaughter us. I bet Terra's a huge bracket favorite. --- "Hold on a minute! That testimony stinks!" "Witness! You can't just say 'Hello' and expect us to get anywhere! I want you to testify!" |

Damnit
man. My gut is way off thinking Shepard won't be able to even double
Ellis, then he goes and triples him, so now i changed my oracle against
my gut instinct that Terra would win. This crap keeps happening, i
listen to my gut when it's wrong then ignore it when it's right. Now
i'll listen to it next time and it'll be wrong again. Damnit. --- "The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it." - George Bernard Shaw |

Kaxon | Posted 2/11/2010 9:57:27 PM | message detail |
I
think the problem with Revan is that he basically had to rely on people
voting for him based on design and the DARTH name, which obviously
isn't happening at this point. KotOR by itself just wasn't gonna be
enough. I think the bigger problem is even if you've played KotOR you might not recognize that picture or remember the name "Darth Revan" since he's doesn't look like that or go by that name for most of the game. --- I made a living on time trial blowing myself off to cross the finish line at ludicrous speed. -transience |

damn, first one wrong in a long while (since kefka actually) did dissidia really make them this strong, or have their opponents just not been up to snuff? |
LeonhartFour | Posted 2/11/2010 10:05:42 PM | message detail |
It's
hard to say just from round 1 matches. Well, we probably won't be able
to tell anything about Terra or Cecil because they'll end up behind

Yes.
But I don't remember the flashback scenes terribly well. In my defense,
it was, like, six years ago that I played it, and while I liked KotOR
it isn't my favorite game or anything. KotOR SPOILERS (cn don't read) I remember what *I* made Revan look like. The hood and mask...that's not my Revan. I could identify every playable character but if you showed me the picture today without a name I would have thought it was some random Sith. --- Mustache...and Green... |
