I'm not sure if this is the FF day vote sucking or Akuma's first hour being awful.

....how bad does your first hour have to be to lose it to Final Fantasy VIII?

If Ridley was able to get almost 30%, and Sephiroths anti votes are likely more prevelant, I don't see it being impossible that Marth hits 35%. 30% is more likely though

Pre-contest I would have said Marth breaking 35% on Seph was about as likely as Ridley getting near 30% on Cloud.

...everytime I make these kinds of calls they blow up in my face. Time to try a different method.

Sephiroth is more likely to break 90% than he is to let Marth get 35%

aww yeah

Would you really consider that a pic disadvantage?

Remember, in the match Bacondorf looked bad in, he had his ugly brown Zelda 1 sprite. Link looked bad with a Zelda 1 sprite - that was the Link/Magus match.

Random thought, but Street Fighter in general might be getting hit with the Magus Effect. So far we've seen Ken bomb, Chun-Li fail to get in, and Akuma underperform. The only one that doesn't seem to have fallen off is Ryu.

Akuma underperform? What were the general expectations for him today? And we've already been over Ken a million times, that's a wait-and-see thing.

charmander6000 | Posted 2/12/2010 2:44:29 PM | message detail
Anyone that thought Akuma would get close to 39.5% was kidding themselves.

Using Squall/Geno comparisons I calculate Akuma to get 31.68% on Squall.

Akuma's not underperforming. There's virtually no way to know what his expectations are here because his only match prior to this was an LFF match in 2007. Yeah, you can use the Squall/Geno 2005 ratio or whatever, but I wouldn't make much of that.

The idea scares me, but I trust in the power of the Nintendo fanbase. They will not be diverted from their mission by something as small as a picture- vote down Sephiroth and support their own over absolutely everyone. As much as individuals may be tempted to vote for Sephiroth, when it comes down to it, they will fall in line.
