It's
more a dislike for Midna (and for that matter, TP Link) than anything
else. I'm pretty much indifferent to Navi herself- I'll vote her over

Okay,
so Aeris got 41.9% on Squall in a four-way in 2007. This is showing us
Auron's able to fight hard with Squall. I certainly hope Auron outdoes
that percentage...but given the different format, relationship, and

analysed this closely for the spread betting thing, and based off
Squall's matches, and the general perception that Auron is weaker than
him, this is about as good as I thought he could do. I don't think it

I'm still not sure if I'd take Sora over Aeris. Sounds crazy, but Sora
is weaker than Auron, and if there is such a thing as a Square

don't really think anyone expected Auron to do so badly that all of a
sudden he doesn't have a chance against Squall (except Albion, I
guess). They're both pretty close in strength. He just hasn't done
anything to establish himself as a favorite with a performance like

know we all fear a little when Sora faces other Square-characters, but
there's no way Aeris beats Sora in a rematch now. Sora's proven he's
close to Squall directly against Squall three out of their four
four-ways, and Aeris was in one of them. Auron's proving being from FF7
doesn't mean everything in an SFF-match, either, so I don't think Aeris
> Sora chatter is anything more than us old fogeys being astonished

Hard
to get over a doubling, and it's hard to take everything from a 4way
where three entrants are splitting a fanbase. Granted, I'd still
probably take Sora, but just as you said we all fear a little when Sora
faces strong FF reps, we also should refrain from using "no way" in an

But that doubling was seven years ago.
Not to mention, it was in 2003 before the site shift. That was at the
peak of Final Fantasy VII's power. It was before Kingdom Hearts II.
Aerith hasn't looked anywhere near that strong ever since. Remember
when we all debated Squall/Aerith as one SFF match we wanted to see?
There was a reason for that. It probably would've been a good match
back then, and she might have won. Heck, she might have even beaten

And yes, Sora has looked good against Squall three times, but there was an excuse each time: First: Aeris in the poll Second: Smilin' Squall Third: Cloud in the poll I think most people here thought Sora would beat Squall outright in that Cloud match; the fact that Squall held on was seen as a bit of a surprise. Anyway, in the fairest Squall/Sora match of all (both in terms of outside competition and the picture), Squall got the old 60/40. Granted, that result may be inflated as well because Squall could have been boosted to fight Sonic and because Sora had his KH1 pic, but it still seemed like more legit circumstances than the other matches. It's possible Sora's great performances on Squall in these favorable circumstances have left him overrated. Remember that this same Sora let Fox get 44% in what seemed like a legit match. Still KH has looked pretty subpar this year (although Sora did just fine vs Midna who is stronger than everyone thinks). Anyway, I think Aeris beats Fox by a fair bit, who isn't THAT strong. Fox should have broken 70% on Lloyd after Kratos A's jobbing to Sackboy. Especially with Nintendo SFF (well, a little bit). Yeah, Auron's not upending Squall as the favorite with this today. He's still in the match though, so it's fine. So guys, I'm trying to make a sixty-four character bracket by pretty much halving everything SB did this year, but I want to mimic a vote-in first before I reorganize the rest of the bracket; I've let the top fifty seeded characters in the contest (all the six seeds, plus two seven-seeds...I picked Charizard and Ryu to be safe), then got the next thirty-six most nominated characters (the rest of the seven-seeds, all the eight-through-ten-seeds, and all but two of the eleven-seeds...I picked Layton and Riggs to be gone) and randomly paired them into six groups of six. Could you guys give 'em a quick classic rank-the-characters treatment (as opposed to a six-way -- no thanks) for each group so I can pick and seed these guys?
