Analysis

It’s the debut of one of the most interesting character from four-ways. Between the two contests Pikachu probably caused the most talk out of any of the characters. L-Block is a close second though. Too bad his path is almost sealed in this contest. The guy could have caused a lot of debates for those people that think Pikachu is weaker in this format.

Pikachu was the flagship that brought Pokemon up to heavy hitter status. The series has come a long way since 2004. Some people were cautious about Pokemon’s performance in one on one, though Mewtwo and Charizard have showed that the series is still as feared in this format as it was in four-ways. However if there is still some underlying hate left Pikachu would be the one to show it. Personally I feel that Pokemon hate is gone, the days where hating it made you cool no longer exist. Pikachu is probably no more hated than any other normal well known character.

Banjo, I’ve never understood why the guy is so weak, after the Big 3 on the Nintendo 64 Banjo-Kazooie was up there in the list of games to buy. I guess not doing anything great since then was probably a factor, we can ignore the Xbox360 games. Being weaker than Conker is a surprise, especially when Banjo’s game was much more popular than Conker’s. To make matters worse Banjo is essentially a Nintendo character and while Pikachu may deviate away from Nintendo a bit the possibility for SFF is there.

While I believe that Pikachu is strong I don’t think that he is as strong as he performed against Crono and Samus last year. Still it would take a massive drop in strength for him to lose before round 3 and considering how well the other Pokemon characters have performed I don’t see that happening.

and it only got 65% on a jrpg series more cult than tales. I wouldn't be surprised if 15% of the Star Ocean votes were anti votes!

Oh yeah, he's getting to round 3 no question. I just think that Pikachu will get the anti votes (especially with an anime pic) the other pokemon characters so far may not have.

I will laugh if Pikachu somehow manages to get the blowout of the contest, which (in all honesty) is within his capability considering how awful Banjo is.

Of course, with the propensity for blowouts significantly lessened in this contest, Pika probably won't get anywhere close, but I'd still find a great deal of humor in it.

It's just so... bland. I really thought it was good until it got selected and I saw it with the banner. It just doesn't work for me like it did.

It was like the first or second pic I made so I guess I was out of practice.
