Just woke up (ugh), and I had a nagging feeling for weeks Kratos was a bad pick. Tales of Symphonia has I believe one victory 1 on 1, and the more I think about it the more I think LBP has been SFFd by MGS4 in every poll it's ever been in.

Ironically, I was in the exact opposite situation - I had been regretting Sackboy > Kratos A ever since bracket lockdown. Hooray for dumb luck!

Sackboy was always a risky pick IMO. To me he was basically a new character, kind of like Nathan Drake.

Snake/Protoman is expectation management, sure. Though realistically my predictions for Snake are always on the high end of the board's (and it's served me well for the past few years "hooray").

Were I Oracleing I'd probably pick something like... 77.77%. I feel that's a hard percentage to do though, especially with the contest as we've seen it so far. This isn't just about taking out Mega Man anymore though! Gotta be in it to win it

As for Solid/Proto, I think considering Cloud/Ridley and Ridley barely beat Proto Man in the vote-in polls means Solid's probably going to do a bit worse in R1 than Cloud. At the same time though, Solid's not going to have nearly the anti-voting that Cloud has and it's REALLY difficult to imagine Proto Man approaching 30% on the Solid of today when he only got 28% on Zero -- I'm all about Proto Man being SFF'd there, but it most likely wasn't much and he's not exactly done much since then (don't start with MM10-hype). It also just doesn't feel right for Solid to let Proto do well on him.

I'll say Solid does about what Cloud did on Ridley, but I don't like predicting our Noble Niners in R1.

I'm all about Proto Man being SFF'd there, but it most likely wasn't much and he's not exactly done much since then (don't start with MM10-hype).

I disagree, Zero was able to hold up well against Mega Man so I expect him to take Proto Man down a peg or two. Of course that was then.

Daisy isn't all that bad a comparison. We have absolutely no idea where Proto Man stands, because his one match was against Zero. He was undoubtedly SFFd.

a) Without a game
b) Stuck against the PS3 powerhouse of MGS

And I think Cloud/Ridley is a good comparison. I have a feeling that Snake will be a peg or 2 down this year compared to last (to the point where I think a match with Samus or Mario would be damn close) and I'd comfortably take Proto Man over Ridley. Proto Man getting 32-34% on Snake isn't unreasonable at all.

People used to talk about the curse of the 3 Seeds, but I think we might have a new curse on our hands.

I just realized that Squall might be THE ONLY ONE of the 2 Seeds to make it to the 3rd Round. Pretty crazy.
