@TheKoolAidShoto: The reason is, of course, that GameFAQs doesn't care about the Wii and will pan games that use the Wii effectively, while Brawl/TP were lightly panned at several sites for not being able to use the Wii effectively versus SMG doing an awesome job at it.

And on every official best game ever list SMG is yet to fall out of the top 25. Yikes do we have different taste!

FF12 was a great game. The first one since 8 that I actually bothered to finish the first time through. And I have a rule that whenever my gut disagrees with the board, I stick with my gut. So far it's paid off.

Analysis

The final and favourite of the Capcom trio now has a chance to show off his strength. His opponent has some decent strength despite never having a true win though like for the next few matches the winner is never in question. Then again most 2/15 match are suppose to be blowouts.

After watching Roxas and Riku’s performance I find it hard to believe that there was any kind of meaningful Kingdom Hearts 258/2 Days boost for the crew. If there was one Axel would probably have gotten one of the larger boosts. Still even without one Axel should put up a respectable performance.

All Dante needs to do is not flop. Axel is no normal 15 seed, but at the same time if Dante shows signs of struggling Ryu will be quick to capitalize on it. In a match between Axel and Balthier I would side with Axel, but I do believe that the match will be close. So as long as Dante’s performance isn’t that much below Ryu’s performance he should be the favourite going into the match.

All of Geno's cases are pretty clear though. One was a character that appeared in the same game as him(and almost stole the show too) and the other was a character from the same developer.

Granted, old Square and new Square haven't showed to really be that bad. Eh... It's hard to argue on that front but there's a lot worse you could say

KrahenProphet and Nintendo cleaned me out in the Guru Contest.

That's probably only because EU/Asia adore Final Fantasy, especially post-FF7 (FF7 was the first FF released in Europe!).

I hink Dante would beat Leon. Leon/Ryu would be a better match.

Only LTTP and RBY have real arguments for being number 3 right now. I mean, the last contest was a 4-way so you never know, but those two are the clear favorites for that spot.

This is a good show from Ryu. I thought might be able to pull 70%+, but getting 69% is a solid performance. We'll see what Dante does soon, but Ryu's looking like I thought he would heading into next round.

The only way Dante will come out of this looking bad, I think, is if Axel gets over 40%. If Dante keeps it in the low 60s -- which should be easy enough -- he'll go into the Ryu match looking maybe a little weak but still more than capable. If he's close to what Ryu's doing today, he should be a very clear favorite to win. Anything in between is business as usual. Those are my thoughts on it, anyway.

If Dante pulls a Kratos somehow, it would be funny as hell. Yeah, he would have an actual excuse for not getting the doubling, but it would still be humorous.

Dante is one of my top 5 vg characters though, I hope he does well actually.

speaking of odd seeding/bracket placement, isn't the Jenova division the biggest missed opportunity or what? Tifa, Crono, and Vincent all in the same division, but they won't face each other and are all getting fed to Sephiroth :/
