and re-read some of my favorites (Everything L-Block did, Symphonia's
match, RBY's first match, Kirby>Sonic, 2k8 Final ect.)/ --- KrahenProphet lived up to his name. |

am not the ultimate arbiter of ideal characterness. I'm merely pointing
out that there is no need to separate all the contest characters into
the "real" or "joke" categories, because clearly some are a mix of both
(and I think the proportions with which they are mixed will greatly

is well above Dante. Why can't he make Vincent sweat exactly...? I
don't quite get that. If he pushes for 60% tomorrow, then you don't

I agree with that. I never complained Vault Boy was going too well or
asked the gods why Leon wasn't doing any better or anything like that,
I just said he was a joke. He certainly has some joke elements... but
at the end of the day I don't see how it matters if he is or not. Like

"Novelty"
is an excellent term, actually. I can concede that. "Joke" implies
inanimate object or something with no background (Tifa's Orthopedic
Underwear, L-Block, et al), which Vault Boy isn't close yo. He's like
the three RBY starter pokemon of the Fallout universe. Beloved by
anyone who plays the ****ing games (key term here, since those
devoid of common sense love judging games before actually playing them
-- making it really easy to spot someone who is acting like an idiot
for no reason and blowing smoke out of their ass), giant role therein,
and so forth. Seriously, Fallout 2 and 3 deserve all the praise they
get. Anyone who hasn't played them needs to, and anyone who condemns

you, he isn't actually in RE5, but whatever RE4 is still really

I'm
looking through topic 222, and it's not really a Dante/Vincent
argument. It's carry-over from that ridiculous Vincent/Kerrigan debate
(by far the worst Board 8 argument of all time, and this includes ALL
contest matches and social hot button issues; nothing compares to the
people who argued for Kerrigan that year) from people trying to justify

of the best stats topic meltdowns was the final of the Series Contest.
It started off with people whining about Zelda/Nintendo always winning

Man,
I remember KH/CV because like nearly everyone had KH in their brackets,
but then nobody thought it would win. And then it did. I remember the
Crew topic being completely unanimous for Castlevania, and there was me
just wishing I had picked Kingdom Hearts out of fanboyism and kicking

With Vercetti stinking up the joint, Niko looking like crap, and GTA as a whole sucking in the last Games contest (seriously, San Andreas had no reason whatsoever to lose that match), my faith in GTA is dropping like a sack of bricks. --- "Here I go! always like remembering what I was doing the day of close matches. Like
I remember during Kefka/Vercetti, I made a run to Dairy Queen before
the last two hours. I remember Frog/Chief was on the first day of the NFL season and I fell asleep and missed the amazing finale. might sound crazy, but I wonder if Jill has a shot at Leon now.
Resident Evil 5 obviously gave her a much bigger boost than Leon (who
likely didn't get one), but it could have also moved her up the
character rankings of existing fans. In a direct match, that could be

Kefka/Vercetti
has always been my favorite stats topic day. I remember taking a few
hours in the middle of the day to pick and assemble a dresser with my
dad, and I had missed like 1000+ posts. And then the whole George
Romero thing... so glorious. Back then, I had no idea who the real
George Romero was, so I thought this user just created this username
