Well, in last year's round one match against Midna: Cloud at 00:30: 70.53% Cloud at 12:00: 73.98% For one, Midna should definitely be stronger than Ridley, and Cloud is obviously going to do worse. And is he going to be able to rise by 4% here just to hit 70%? --- Mustache...and Green... |

The
idea of Ridley getting a Brawl boost is just strange to me. Of course,
anyone who's played Brawl recognizes who that is. Maybe just Ridley
getting a recognizable picture as opposed to that red streak he got

You know what would be really awesome? Sephiroth is losing to Marth at the 5 minute mark. He's losing to Crono at the 30 minute mark. Look
at the anti-votes we've already seen in this contest. Leon Kennedy
could have probably challenged Link's percentage against Thrall. Link
probably would have done too much better on Sandal than WCC did. This is a bad performance, but it's a bad performance in R1 against fodder. Cloud is still the favorite against Samus/Snake. Cloud/Samus/Snake are all established guys. Maybe just Ridley getting a recognizable picture as opposed to that red streak he got before is helping him here. That's what I mentioned before the match. I haven't played Brawl or a Metroid game and Ridley looks far more appealing here than either of his two earlier pictures. --- KrahenProphet and Nintendo cleaned me out in the Guru Contest. |

Ridley is literally the SSE's one highlight. Everyone remembers and loves him as a boss. roflmfao are you kidding me. is this where we've come to board 8? really? Marth is way stronger than Ridley and Seph has always got antivoted worse than Cloud. Marth winning might be too much to ask but I could definitely see him at 45%+. --- Demyx is better than Axel. |

agree Yo, I find first round stats to be kinda meaningless most of the
time in the case of Noble Niners/other established elites. You'll
always have variances. They only matter a lot for characters that are

I've
supported FFVII dropping a step since seeing its trends in the Games
Contest as I said, but with the lack of blowouts, it's hard to judge
Cloud too harshly here. Especially since he may still rise a very long

Finally
took Cloud 40 minutes just to start doubling Ridley. I guess Cloud will

was serious about that '4-ways helping FF7' thing. The game's playrate
is nosediving, and it has a lot of hardcore fans. Add in that + another

the Round 1 16-seeds are stronger than usual due to the vote-ins. Hell,
you could probably even make a case that none of them are actually

have Gordon > Tifa as well, actually! But the two-seeds have been
consistently screwing me over, so just watch as Gordon fails to break

As
fun as it is to make fun of Cloud here, I'd agree that this doesn't
mean much overall. Unless he has a similarly disappointing second
round, I wouldn't look too deeply in this. It's not like it matters if
Cloud has dropped, anyway, because there's no one who could challenge
him. You can point at Snake, but if there is a series that has looked
