have thought that Crono might have Old School SFFd Simon, but there's
really little evidence to back that up. There's barely been any

This Ezio showing is in the running for Turd of the Round. Let's wait a few hours before calling Ezio Turd of the Round. Remember he started off bad due a glitch and many people deciding to support Simon instead. can't see Ezio being as weak as old Simon. Simon must be overperforming
or something. Maybe he's like Pac-Man, impressing against weaker

Ezio,
like Altair (and Dante and Kratos), is a character very dependent on
appeal, because let's face it, their games will never amount to a tub
of beans on this site. The downside for Ezio is that Altair has
probably assumed the role as his series's central character, and that
Ezio just has a really goddamn stupid name. I'm absolutely certain he'd
be doing better if his name was Eltair. Of course, he barely even has a
picture advantage here because they look so similar. Take off the robe,
and Ezio becomes Simon. It almost looks like a before/after pic of some

In other news, new 2D Sonic confirmed for XBox360, PS3 and Wiiware for this summer. Obviously this won't affect his chances of getting past Ganondork and Kirby, but in terms of long-term strength how do you think this will affect him? He could pull a Snake and experience a complete revival, shaking up the noble nine in the process, or he could pull a Crono and keep dropping like a rock despite a new release. Crono hasn't been dropping since 2007. At the least, CTDS has managed to stop the fall for a few years. Also, Ezio isn't in the running for turd of the round.
