Emerald's battles just didn't feel as comfortable as Platinum's to me though.

I'm a little bit disappointed in Jecht. Though in a 24 hour match he probably would've pushed 55%, which is decent. Phoenix is all about the first 6-8 hours, then nothing.

The hell is Brutal Legend. I've never heard of this game at all.

So what are people expecting with Jecht vs. Ratchet now? I still think Jecht takes it because Riggs is probably completely garbage, but I guess Ratchet has a decent shot.

I think we're still expect Jecht to smash Ratchet. This match is more about how awful Eddie is than how strong Ratchet is.

Jecht breaks 60% with ease. I see Phoenix Wright being just above the fodder line I don't see Ratchet boosting from previous years.

Exactly, as much as I enjoyed Brutal Legend it still didn't sell that well. Everyone expected Eddie Riggs to be fodder and this match puts an exclamation point above it.

When this contest is over, I can't wait to see how low Eddie stats out.

Ratchet has had good marketing lately though, and with the seeming shift it's not unreasonable to think that he may have boosted.

If he would be strong enough to beat Phoenix he can probably beat Jecht. But it's hard to tell -- that's what you get when you have someone facing off against an untested character. There's no measure to see if they've boosted (not that stats are always accurate.)

But then again, even if Eddie was tested people would probably just say that he fell far because there's no way anyone can boost a lot (like they did with Liquid vs. Altair.)

I don't know, I think Ratchet might be like a Pac-man in hiding and Jecht is obscure enough to do surprisingly well. I think he could hold Jecht under 60%. Maybe Jecht with something like 56%.

Marketing doesn't always equal boost in strength. The marketing for Uncharted 2 was much higher and look at what happen to Nathan Drake.

Like I said Ratchet was marketed extremely well lately -- for a while I saw his commercials everywhere. They were in theaters here, too. Also his game was packaged with a great deal for PS3 controllers etc etc.

I think he has plenty of reason to boost.

Ratchet won't even get the benefit of his casual/kiddy imagery - he's got Jecht at night. I'd expect domination from PW, and similar obliteration from Jecht.

I doubt it, at least not big enough to double someone. I think Eddie Riggs is really that weak.

There are more factors that play into it to. Different age demographics finally starting to use a computer, older people leaving, and I think the marketing does play a bigger role especially as the gaming world continues to grow and appeal to more people. I mean his commercials were in theaters!

I really doubt Jecht breaks 60%. Don't think Jecht is that strong, or Ratchet that pathetic. It would be cool if he did though.

Ratchet is probably stronger than he was in 2003-4 nowadays if Crash is any indication. And Jecht and Phoenix are weak; I'm not sure if I'd take either over Kefka. Jecht is the clear favorite, but Ratchet can probably do pretty well.

And yeah, Emerald 386. It's very fun, and I get to bypass all that "go to an event, trade, blah blah blah, play through 18 different versions" crap to catch everything. It's all in one game, as it should be. Other starters are rare, as it should be. With Cadabra evolving to Alakazam at level 50, as it should be. Et cetera. The guy who made this did a great job.

So were Crash Bandicoot's, and he lost to KOS-MOS. Mainstream appeal means very little on this site.
