tbh, that match is all Sackboy's pic IMO. Give him a pic where he steals Snake's MGS4 look and I could see him blowing out Kratos bad. Same with a Sephiroth pic. Seriously, how could you NOT vote for that?

Sounds like a Big Boss argument to me... Predicting Sackboy would likely be par on with playing a game of roulette - why base my prediction on the luck of the draw picture Sackboy gets?

Phoenix tends to increase at this time after the board vote wears off. Not by much, and it won't last long, but I could see the lead dipping to 200 or 300. He probably won't have the lead again, though.

It's a sequel, set about 10 years after the first.

PLOT SETUP SPOILERS FOR BIOSHOCK 2 PAST HERE AND ENDGAME SPOILERS FOR BIOSHOCK 1








Basically, the "good" end of BioShock 1 is canon and you took all the little sisters back to the real world. One is still mentally unhinged (duh) and builds herself a "Big Sister" outifit. She kidnaps lots of little girls and take them back to rapture. You play as the prototype Big Daddy, which had both the Drill and plasmids. It also retained an element of free will. We don't know exactly how much free will it has, but it seems cheap to set up the same thing as the first game again. But you do have a character, you're not just an unthinking robot.

Lucid keeps telling me to play Bioshock.

It really is one of the best games of this generation hands down. It probably hits the lower end of my Top 10, but that fluctuates all over the place.

Play it.

If it has amazing atmosphere, I can literally forgive anything else. My Silent Hill 2 fanboyism (for all intents and purposes, the game *should* be terrible) proves this. Not saying I think Bioshock is bad or anything, but atmosphere and/or gameplay done perfectly sells me on anything.

Lol, I'm one of those people who thinks Silent Hill sucks ass to play/control but the atmosphere and story is just so goddamn amazing.

But Bioshock has the best of both worlds. It's a really fun game to play and the atmosphere is incredible. Story and narrative is pretty good too.

Having skimmed a couple, that's the best review IMO. Gives the game an 8/10.

But yeah, the atmosphere is one of the best in gaming, up there with Eternal Darkness in my mind.

Only SH I've played is 2, but I bought SM/3/4 recently on recommendation. The thing with controls is having bad controls makes sense. You play as a random douchebag that gets lost in Silent Hill. If you were a battle god, it would defeat the purpose. The controls suck, and when you see an enemy you're frantically trying to figure out what to do -- just like in real life. Only indefensible thing are the puzzles. I mean really, a hook combines with a piece of hair (which is locked inside of a box with 4 locks) to form an EXTRA LONG hook that won't break when you stick it into a shower drain? Hey James, take your ****ing crowbar and break the goddamn thing open. Jesus. That **** gets old real fast.

I really like you guys, so naturally I trust your gaming opinions above most else. I'll move Bioshock way up my nonexistent backlog list. I really need to make a backloggery.

BioShock is probably my favourite game this generation, but it's too bad they are making a a sequel. That game does not need a sequel and no one was asking for one, but alas the greedy publishers have to step in and ruin the fiction. I'm sure the gameplay will be a bit better, but there is no way this new developer can match the atmosphere and storytelling that Irrational achieved with the first one. Oh well.
