To give an idea, Brutal Legend sold 216k in its first month on both consoles, but didn't do enough to make the top 10 from either platform. And it wasn't even on the top 20 in the following months. Not a big game, that one.

I didn't put any faith in Eddie Riggs because his game completely disappeared as soon as it came out. I checked a couple of weeks ago, and it wasn't even in the GameFAQs top 100. I'd be really surprised if Ratchet had any trouble with him.

What? It's not even a matter of quality -- I haven't played Brutal Legend. The game may have sold more than Okami (though, honestly, not by a whole lot; BL didn't sell well), but it doesn't have the niche fanbase backing it or the general popularity and acclaim that Okami gets. Shadow's games have sold far more than Okami, too, but that doesn't mean much if people don't care for them.

I think that from FF7 onward, Dissidia probably not gonna help much, because they're really popular and already have an established, slavish fanbase. Old Square guys like Kefka and Cecil certainly seem to get help from it though(making that Terra/Raven match kinda interesting). It also helps that Kefka is totally awesome in Dissidia.

It doesn't look like Tidus benefited from Dissidia, so I don't know how much more helpful it could have been to Jecht. Who knows though...at this point, we can only definitively say Cecil and Kefka impressed. They're old-Square though, who should benefit from it more than others...and given we don't know how far Sonic Team has fallen or what Kefka's pic means for him, the idea of Dissidia helping every character seems less likely or substantial.

Uh, how did Jecht NOT benefit from Dissidia? For starters, he's only in the contest to begin with cuz of Dissidia. And it was his biggest game role ever, since he got a lot more screen time in it then he ever did in FFX. Not to mention he's a popular character to use.

If theres anyone to benefit from Dissidia, its Jecht.

Tidus is Tidus... Dissidia hypothetically wouldn't help much because he's already well known and it doesn't make him any less Tidusy.... but with Jecht, Dissidia does like quadruple the screen time he's had in the history of video games and make him playable and stuff... it seems like Jecht would have more to gain.
