Bowser/Frog and Auron/Aerith are the two matchups of characters who have this streak this year.

Ganondorf lost to Vincent in round 1 in 2006. Kirby lost to Jill Valentine in round 1 in 2002. Those are their only first round losses.

Uh, yeah. The people who were crying about Tidus's picture last night have some legit beef. I have Subby and all, but I also enjoy fair fights.

Skimmed through the thread. I'm glad some people who picked Sub-Zero actually admit this. Even if Tidus would have lost with a better picture, it would at least be nice to think a close match such as this one would be a fair fight.

The best thing about Tidus losing though, is that it means Jecht will embarrass his cry-baby son that much more when he wins.

It'd be like the 4-way technicality. They weren't eliminated on day 1, so they technically "won" because they advanced to the next day.

Not really - brackets were allowed "in" the contest as long as they picked a final winner, so they could have left battles blank. Will check entrants at the end of the first round to see if there was a "true" zero bracket.
